    • Though cheaply made, it does what it's intended to do.
Edit after 1st winter: this box faired better than expected outside in an uncovered patio in CT all winter. I filled it with 4 chaise lounge cushions, some chair cushions & a hammock. I expected to find evidence of bugs or mice, or mold & mildew from melting snow or rain, but I found everything dry & quite usable. So I guess for the price I paid, which was quite reasonable, I got my money's worth. This is a cheaply made thin plastic box with lots and lots of openings for water, snow, insects to get in. I should have returned it when the shipping box arrived severely broken in a number of places. The driver noted the condition but said that if any parts fell out during shipping, I'd most likely be able to get replacements from the company. So I kept it, thinking that the quality of my other deck boxes is great and I'll make due. Well this is not like my other boxes. This material flexes rather than being rigid. There are openings all around the box where spiders and water can enter, especially at the bottom. The bed of the box is such a ridiculously flimsy piece of plastic that I suspect the bottom will fall out when I load it up. It's now assembled and waiting to be brought outside. Will it last this first winter? I won't hold my breath. Save your money and buy something else. ... show more

    • Don't water your money.
The media could not be loaded. Boy was I disappointed when I opened the box!!! What a cheap waste of money! This item was on sale and I read the reviews..I was impressed and thought it was a great find!!! BOY WAS I MISTAKEN!!! I can't imagine paying the original price for this storage box!! It actually has a corrugated plastic bottom! So flimsy.. I don't even know why you would bother putting a lock on it--you could whack it with a hammer and bust It wide open!! You could probably just pick it up and walk away with it too! This doesn't even qualify as weather resistant in my opinion! There's LARGE ventilation holes in it, it has a corrugated plastic bottom and the walls seem pretty thin. I suppose I could insulate it and seal up the holes in it but then with the price that you're paying for the extra material and the time that it takes you to do it, you might as well spend the extra $30 and get a well made storage container! Haven't decided if I'm going to keep it or send it back! The only reason I wouldn't send it back is because it would be a big pain to box back up and lug down to the UPS store. P. The chest was easy enough to assemble. One piece was shipped broken but I called the help phone that was included with the instructions and a couple of days later I received the replacing piece no fuss no problems. I saw a review that said the bottom is cardboard but it's not (maybe it used to be in the first models?). It's all plastic although it is of different quality than the rest of it. The only thing I didn't like much is that the color is so dark that it looks almost black instead of brown, especially when it's cloudy. But it does the job for me. I bought this to store the cushions of my deck furniture. Nothing heavy nor particularly valuable so I don't have concerns about the bottom breaking under the weight or about security. I mean anything you buy that is plastic has a potential of being broken into without much effort although I would imagine it would be a noisy task. Anyway a nice and practical solution for my storage problems. ... show more

For the first one that I got was completely screwed up missing pieces the box was destroyed I swear it was some item that someone had returned and nobody checked it, after I spent an hour and a half trying to figure it out. the good news is when they sent me a replacement it was much much much much faster than getting the original one LOL okay this one was in great shape except for the new one had some quality control issues with cutting the resin parts cleanly to separate them period easy enough it was okay to fix on my own. I'd read another reviewer said you will know if it's connected correctly because you will definitely hear a snap. I absolutely agree with that because if you don't hear the snap something's wrong. I have to say it took two of us two times to do it and it was probably because the instructions are very screwed up and if you don't get one of the screws all the way through where you can't see it anymore the whole it's supposed to go into it may go off to the side and will put the whole frame off I will not connect together correctly. The lid is a little crooked that I just am working it into getting used to laying down correctly but I have to say I'm so much surprised that this thing literally can hold body weight without any question or any nervousness about it being unsteady. I don't see it being waterproof because it doesn't seem to shut down all the way so I'm going to purchase this cover for it that I found for about 30 bucks it's still really great could only be better if they'd put wheels on it ... show more

GREAT BOX! after reading previous reviews I was a bit worried, but turned out to be quite pleasantly surprised. 1) the instructions were clear and accurate. 2) all of the hardware was packaged and labeled correctly. 3) with a single screwdriver, assembly was straight forward. 4) the finished product is sturdy and holds all of my pool hoses, chemicals, tiki fuel, pool toys, and pool related odds and ends in a tidy, weatherproof, and aesthetically pleasing way right on the pool deck where they belong. I'm very happy with this purchase and would like to recommend that anyone who would like this box on their deck to buy it and look over the included instructions and proceed from step one through the end all in about 90 minutes.
