  • Great TB4 Docking Station. Works with 2021 MacBook M1 Pro 14".
Style: Thunderbolt 4
I was between OWC and Kingston with exactly the same ports and layout (probably using the same board layout) with similar PD Wattage values and decided to go with Kingston after finding a pretty much open box Amazon Warehouse deal at a great price. I have decent hearing with a great frequency range so a high pitch noise generated by the transistors inside the power adapter which also travels up to the dock and pretty much echoes same vibration inside was driving me crazy. It is more noticeable when your device and/or monitor is on sleep due to power adjustments triggered by the internal board of the dock. At first it was very annoying, then I learned to live with it and found my power cycle options that helped when I am not using my laptop. My 4K LG monitor will look for signals every 5 - 10 minutes when connected to dock. So to prevent that high pitch buzz (I am pretty sure most people will not hear it) and to keep my monitor in full sleep mode and also to cut any power delivery attempt to my MacBook overnight (kept at 80% max via AlDente), now I turn off my main surge protector outlet when i am done working at night (after placing my MacBook on sleep) which turns off the dock, monitor and speakers instead of using the power button on the dock. No high pitch noise, no signal lookups on my monitor, just deep sleep for everyone. Viola. ... show more

  • Fast dock with plenty different options
Style: Thunderbolt 4
It has plenty of speed and runs cool. The RJ45 speed is pretty good. Wish it had a couple display ports. Wish it had a small SD card reader but I can use the SD card adapter so it's nor really too big a deal. Another Thunderbolt port on the front would be nice.

  • A decent companion to the Surface Pro 8
Style: Thunderbolt 4
I bought this reluctantly with my Surface Pro 8, primarily as I wanted a full power charge connection without using the ridiculous magnetic Surface Pro Connector. I have been using these for years, and they consistently fall out at the lightest pull. Which is ok for a charger, but for a Surface Dock it means your hard drive disconnects during a lengthy copy process - oh NO!! And with my Surface Pro Dock 2 the power connector would get so hot that it could hurt to remove it. Anyways..... This docking station, has a solid and reliable Thunderbold 4 connection, and it works perfectly. The actual Docking Station gets pretty hot, and the power adaptor buzzes so loudly you have to put it on the floor, but otherwise, everything seems to work ok with it. Meh. It's heavy and sharp edges, and obviously the standard product, labelled with a different name to jump on the Microsoft marketing bandwagon, but it works. So that's ok. ... show more

  • A trusted name in docking solutions
Style: USB-C
I now have two Kensington (the other is the SD7000 which is hard to find) docks and they are worth every penny. They are the Apple(tm) of the peripheral aftermarket as there products feel solid, show great quality, and work right out of the box. Spend the money and save the time. I am DONE taking advantage of Amazon return policy for the junk that I have spent hours trying to troubleshoot their issues. Good job, Kensington! ... show more

  • Garbage
Style: USB-C
I must have used this docking station a couple dozen times before all USB ports stopped working at once. Don’t throw away your money, buy something better.

  • Just what I needed for my Surface Pro 7
Style: USB-C
Within 20 minutes of opening the package, I was up and running. I bought it primarily for the ability to have multiple monitors. Using the two displayports, I was able to get two additional DELL monitors up and sync'd to my Surface. It is sleek and has an on/off switch which is a great feature. Very happy with my purchase! ... show more

  • Not sure SD5750T is a real product/quality in doubt
Style: Thunderbolt 4
UPDATE: I now have more experience with other brand of Thunderbolt 4 dock, and found out that the monitor issue I described below may not be a Kensington issue. The complaint surrounding the mixing product lines remain though. First of all, I am not sure SD5750T is really a product separate from SD5700T, other than a different packaging. I saw it available for purchase earlier, and almost instantaneously placed an order for my new Surface Pro 8. Once it arrived, although the outside packaging says SD5750T, what's packed inside is a SD5700T, even the user manual says the same. I called Kensington's customer support, was told that the two have "identical features," although I can opt for an exchange with Amazon. I was not interested in getting another identical product, so I waited on it for a little bit. A day after, the dock started to make a strange hissing sound, which is not clearly audible by everyone, but quite audible and annoying to me. After communication with Amazon, I went ahead and got a replacement. The new one arrived in two days, and I immediately noticed that it is an SD5700T again, which really made me think SD5750T is not a real product but a marketing scheme. Once set up, initially it worked fine, no hissing sound, everything good. Three days later, I heard the hissing sound once, but it disappeared after disconnecting/reconnecting. About the same time, however, it stopped outputting to my external monitor. After restarting, disconnecting and reconnecting, I am still not able to make it work. I guess it is asking too much regarding product quality when the packaging and product inside don't even match. ... show more

  • Would be nice if it charged correctly
Style: USB-C
I was excited to get this in and use with my surface pro 7 until I started to use it. My surface has no charging issues with the cable that it came with (just want to state that first). When docked, video, sound and Ethernet work fine. The docking station charges my surface AS LONG AS IT IS POWERED OFF. When I am using the dock with my surface, the battery drains over time despite showing that it is charging. Contacted tech support and was told just to ship it back (no walk through on how, who to contact, or RMA label offered). I have has this thing for 3 days....I guess I should have just bought Microsoft's actual docking station instead. ... show more
