I am so very pleased to have found this Kenmore Over-the-Range Microwave – 1000 Watts, 300 CFM Vent Fan, Preset Cooking Controls, Child Lock, LED Lighting, 1.7 cu. ft. Capacity, White. I totally trust Kenmore products for many years and are a brand I trust. We had another brand similar to this item that is was on it's last leg, have not been able to find replacement parts since shortly after we got it, so that in itself was very disappointing. Kenmore we have never had an issue getting parts so I am truly pleased to have a over the range Microwave that I can use again and fits perfectly where the old one was. It looks great and fits our kitchen we remodeled 10 years ago perfectly. It is manufactured with quality materials and appears it will hold up for much longer than the other brand we got that quickly started failing us shortly after installing. This microwave has all the features we want and were looking for. The fan functions excellent exhausting out what I am cooking on the stove very efficiently and has Carbon air and grease filters help capture airborne particles and odors. This is the first microwave we have ever had that has a child safety lock helps prevent unintended use. This is a nice feature for when grandchildren come over, but honestly, our microwave is higher than the ones we would have to worry about reaching that high. In my opinion, but that we have anyone in our home, this could be a good feature for someone who may have a family memeber with dementia issues though for safety. Our food heats up efficiently. I really like the defrost cycle for those days I wasn't on the ball and need to get something unthawed quickly. I am so very pleased with the quality material this microwave is made of, and how sturdy everything feels opening & closing the door. It is a very good value for an ample size microwave with all these wonderful features. I am very pleased and it is an excellent upgrade in our kitchen for sure. This microwave does exactly what I want an over-the-range microwave to do. The controls are easy to understand, the display is clear, and the preset functions are convenient without being confusing. I appreciate not having to jump through hoops or learn an obscure ritual just to turn the thing on, which unfortunately seems to be asking a lot from some modern appliances. The 1.7 cubic foot capacity provides plenty of room for everyday cooking and reheating, and the 1000-watt power level heats food quickly and evenly. The vent fan and LED lighting are useful additions, and the stainless steel finish gives it a clean, modern appearance without drawing too much attention to itself. Everything feels well thought out and practical for daily use. It's quiet and it produces no odd odors, which was (weirdly) an issue with my previous microwave. Installation was straightforward for an over-the-range unit, and the overall build quality feels solid. Considering the features, capacity, and performance, the price seems very reasonable compared to similar models from other major brands. I ordered this microwave to replace a similar Kenmore over‑the‑range model that was still working perfectly after about 20 years. The only reason it needed to be replaced was because people in my house kept flinging the door open and hyperextending the hinges until the door finally fell off, literally. Honestly, the fact that it survived that kind of treatment for for that long says a lot about Kenmore’s quality and durability. This new model is a good size, heats well, and is easy to use. The brushed stainless steel finish hides fingerprints much better than standard stainless steel, so it stays looking clean with less effort. The lighting and vent fan over the range work as expected.
