Pricey ABSOLUTELY, worth every penny, ABSOLUTELY. Two things that should always be comfortable in your life, is your home and your boots. My first pair were the mountain extreme 400 with a slight break-in period but nothing unbearable. The lineman model, straight out of the box comfortable and zero break-in. From climbing trees for so long spending hours in the canopy of trees and removing them, I have had severe pain in my feet from the gaffs( tree spikes). Since purchasing these boots my pain has reduced drastically the comfort is immediately noticeable. I have not had these boots long thus far I haven’t had the opportunity to climb in them yet being that they’re fairly new. I’m absolutely certain there won’t be any issues since the shank area is plenty deep enough just as deep if not deeper than my Carolina Logger/lineman boots I’ve owned for many years now. I highly recommend these boots and as I always say you get what you pay for when it comes to boots and comfort and these are an A++. Now I feel like my crocs at the end of the day hurt my feet worse than these boots( all jokes aside). They are very comfortable and well made! 10/10 recommend. I have bought a lot of different boots over the years trying to find something that was way better than the rest. So far these are it. Little weird at first if you aren’t used to this type of boot. But hardly no break in period. Great to work in all day. Not too hot, and also keep your feet warm in the winter. I can barely feel my hooks when climbing. They are pricey, but you can’t put a price on comfort ... show more

As a lineman apprentice these are absolutely the best boots. I am hiking up right of ways in pennsylvania and wearing my hooks for hours in these. They have little to no break in period. Only boots i’ll wear. I wear a size 12 sneaker and wear an 11 in these.

So I haven’t been able to find too many reviews of these and the ones I could find were people swearing these were the best boots they’ve ever owned. Here’s my experience with them: I’ve worn these for a few weeks at work and they’re still somewhat stiff as far as wearing them in goes. Initially they pinched certain places on my feet throughout the day but that’s not as bad now that the leather has become more makes me after wearing. The soles that come with the boots are absolute garbage, throw those out and get some higher end arch support ones, that made a night and day difference with how comfortable these boots became. These aren’t the most flexible boots like others I’ve worn, but as far as waterproofing goes they work great since I work in a lot of wet environments at my job as a water distribution system operator. Overall would I buy them again? Probably not but I’ll make the best of them and hopefully they wear in better. Not sure why everyone rants and raves about these boots unless that’s the only boot they’ve ever worn in their life. They’re average boots to me. ... show more

Purchased to wear through winter. First time wearing for 16 hour shift. Low of 9 degrees in 6 inches of snow, with ice. Feet never got wet or cold, no pressure points and no blisters. Haven’t climbed in them yet but great boot so far. Well worth the purchase.

Very promising, good stiff bed for orthotics. Started a return because bone hits boot structure high on inside the arch. This is unexpected, as width is good at ball of foot. Toe box very generous, room for thick socks plus Ukrainian-made oversocks too. So, ordered, last week, a half size smaller but wide. For reason 'out of stock' thatnew order was canceled, but since 11W still shows available, I reordered just now. Wanted to bring in both pairs to podiatrist for advice, but that won't happen tomorrow. ... show more

Stitches wear out in the heal/ankle area of the boot, due to a design flaw, which causes the boot to flex in a manner that wears on the stitches in a way that causes premature breakdown, usually just about the time Kennetrek’s pitiful warranty expires.

I love the quality of the boot hands down no gripe about fit and finish or comfort. Now for the issue for me compared to my pair of hoffman classics these have less support when climbing poles so do take note, because these do not have a shank. They are still good but not all day climbing compares to the hoffmans, and even less than scarpa wrangler gtx. Great boot none the less but if you need a absolute beast all day on your hooks climbing boot i would recomend the hoffman classica or the scarpa boots (both about half the price) ... show more
