It's loud. It sounds like a swarm of bees rather than the low hum of a typical larger fan. You won't be using this in the bedroom unless it's really hot but it moves a lot of air at 9500cfm (on high). That's pretty dang powerful. It's surprisingly thin. Only about 4 inches thick, I don't know why I was expecting more of a "drum" to this drum fan. I would be interested if the 8 narrow blades are better than having 3 or 4 wide blades, and why. I'm not sure if it was worth the $100 I paid yet. Time will tell. The directions are a little confusing but I got it together. I accidentally have the wheels on the same side as the handle. Oops. Not a big enough deal to take the time to switch it as I don't plan to move it around all that much ... and it's not even heavy. Box says it's under 12lbs. so I'm not even sure why the manufacturer felt it needed wheels at all. So you could skip them all together if you wanted. But if wheeling this around is important to you, pay attention where you mount the wheels so the handle is on top when you tip it back. Also it matters which c-shaped post goes on which mount so if the screws aren't lining up, switched them. There's some random small holes in the c-shaped posts for some unknown screws... Who knows. Perhaps to mount it to something?

I was impressed enough with the first one to buy another one. I'm using these fans to circulate cool air throughout my house. These fans are both more powerful and quieter than the barrel fans I'm replacing. One on each floor does the job so well that at night when it's cooler I have to put them on a lower setting. With the daytime temperature range being well over 100° these fans make your house more comfortable for less cost. I highly recommend them. As for durability though, only time will tell but the first one has been running almost continuously for a month only being shutdown when nobody is in the house. At this time I highly recommend them and will be buying two more for outbuildings.

I thought this was good buy......but not so! Fan assembled easily. I think it makes more noise with the multiple blades, but that I was ok with. After all, it's for the garage! The fan lasted about a week with about 3-4 uses and then I noticed the Fan would speed up and then slow down. And that was on low. Then started making a rattling/clicking noise coming from motor. I checked all the fasteners, which were tight. I touched the Fan motor and it was smoking hot! Then smoke came from the motor when I shut it off! Returned it for a refund! Then I had to pay for boxes to return ship because I thought it was going to last longer than 2 weeks!

Two days without electricity after hurricane Beryl, made me realize that a battery fan was probably a good idea. I liked that this one was simple but made of metal, hence the choice. I tested run time at the lowest speed -which was quite adequate to keep my wife and myself comfortable in a hot bedroom - and it ran for 27 hours. I think that's possible three nights. Pretty impressive.
