I had been waiting to review this sleeping bag until I had a chance to try it out. First, let me say that I use this sleeping bag all by myself, not two people (although there is plenty of room!), just me. I camp in a teardrop (it's actually a square top-a Hiker Trailer) which is basically a bed on wheels. I have a 6in thick, full size mattress in the trailer and although it takes regular sheets and other bedding, I realized that I move a lot when sleeping. I'd end up without covers and waking up because I was cold. A regular sleeping bag would have done the trick but I do not like the feeling of being stuffed in a sack. Enter the Kelty Doublewide. This sleeping bag has made a huge difference in sleep quality. I no longer wake up cold and without covers. It has lots of room so I can move around as much as I want. Best of all, I wake up well rested and warm. So far I have only used it in temperatures around 37-45F degrees. Later this winter I will try it out in freezing temperatures. The quality of the materials is very good and the attention to detail in the seams and finishing is excellent. It is a bulky item, but that is definitely expected and not a detractor (for me at least) as this is not a backpacking sleeping bag, if you want something similar for backpacking you may want to consider individual lightweight bags that can zip together. So far I am very happy with this sleeping bag and I am looking to years of cool and cold weather camping with it. Highly recommend it. (I am 5'8" tall and weigh 160-170 lbs, btw.) Happy camping! Edit: I took it camping for NYE in MD, the tips were just below 30F outside. Yes, I am still using it in the Hiker Trailer, my bed on wheels. I pre warmed the cabin before going to bed using a diesel heater and would bring the cabin temp up to about 50F before crawling into the Kelty sleeping bag. Once cozy, I'd shut down the heater (otherwise it'd be very hot inside) and fall asleep. The sleeping bag performed VERY well (I had silk long johns and a beanie hat) and kept me comfortable the whole night, it was just me in the bag. I am very happy with this item and would definitely recommend it. I am not sure how well it would work without a well insulated base, I have a 6 in Milliard mattress in my Hiker Trailer. ... show more

I bought the Kelty 20F double sleeping bag for my husband and I to share while camping. We have had our sleeping bag for over a year now and so far, I love everything about it. It is comfortable, warm, the extra blankets inside are nice and do come in handy, the zippers work smoothly, and I love that it zips down on both sides. Everything is well made and so far is holding up great. Have washed if twice and probably have used it camping over 10 times already. I really can't think of any negatives. We have used it in both our truck tent and tent trailer and have stayed in night time temps hovering around 30 degrees. My husband is a big guy and I am average size and we fit comfortably with room to spare. Great sleeping bag for car camping and fairly priced for its excellent quality. ... show more

I recently purchased the Kelty double sleeping bag in the olive oil color for a solar eclipse camping trip. The “blanket” attached inside is actually more like a thin flap that doesn't secure in the middle. The brown color appears more like purple in reality. Despite the initial quirks, we appreciated having individual zippers for easy access without disturbing each other. It took up our entire king size air mattress. We are both 5’4 and had plenty of space remaining at our feet. In terms of warmth, we found ourselves a bit chilly on a 40 degree night until we generated enough body heat within the bag. In hindsight, packing an additional blanket would have been wise for extra insulation. The sleeping bag is reasonably comfortable, made from typical synthetic material. While it's not extravagant, it serves its purpose well. However, it's worth noting that it's quite bulky for travel and not suitable for backpacking. Repacking it into its sack required some effort - which was basically me doing a straddle and shove for 5 minutes. ... show more

This has been a fantastic sleeping bag! The 2-layer system works great for that extra layer of warmth at night, but then when it warms up in the morning, you can unzip the top layer and just sleep under the second layer.
