  • Precise bass
The Kef K92 subwoofer delivers very precise bass and I am delighted with the sound. Performance consistent with the many positive reviews. Great for classical, jazz and rock music. Powerful addition to home theater. Recommend reading the Kef materials and other internet resources on settings, placement and room treatment to get the best sound. ... show more

  • KEF KF92 is an excellent match for KEF LS50's!
I was very hesitant to purchase this subwoofer due to the retail price and I was doubtful that it could be as musical as my REL T7i or REL R218 subs, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is very, very close in musicality and speed to the REL's but definitely picks up much deeper bass notes with authority and grace. This is most noticeable when listening to piano-centric cuts where there are deep notes coming from the piano. For context, I have tried quite a few subwoofers over the years and have converged on Velodyne HGS12 & DD12 as being my favorite (with certain speaker pairings) for home theater while still able to handle some music duties. I love REL for my pure 2 channel stereo systems. I am going to move the REL's to other rooms of the house and use the KEF KF92 under my desk (directly in front of me with the woofers pointing to the sides) paired with a Ragnarok 2, PS Audio DirectStream DAC and KEF LS50's. I'm super happy with my purchase considering I got it on sale and the surprisingly great performance. I think KEF will be able to move a lot of these subs if they can increase awareness about their performance...especially if they can price them closer to about $1500 on sale. ... show more

  • Bass as good and low as advertised
I picked this up to replace a Von Schweikert VRS/1 subwoofer and pair with my Rythmik F12SE. Side-by-side with the Von Schweikert it's no contest. The KEF is cleaner and goes tremendously lower. Side-by-side with the Rythmik, it's much closer with the KEF creating what feels like a few Hz lower and deeper the kind of bass you can feel that makes movies feel like movies. The KEF definitely gets much deeper as it breaks in, and changed significantly in the few weeks since I first powered it up. I notice a tremendous amount of infrasonic bass that I didn't have prior to this sub so the specs are no joke. It's pulling well above its weight. My room size is about 11x11x8' so not very large. I have no doubts this sub will do well in somewhat larger rooms but take room size into consideration when getting this sub. While either the KEF or the Rythmik would do well at loud volumes in my room, it's all relative. If you're into extreme volumes or have a very large room you might end up needing a much larger subwoofer but for most people with regular sized rooms this sub should be plenty. I purchased this through a dealer and not on Amazon but wanted to add my comparisons for others looking into this sub. ... show more
