  • Great Boots - some sizing information.
Size: 9.5 Color: Cascade Brown/Bombay Brown
For the people that are wondering about SIZE; here are my findings. The size chart for my measured feet suggested a size 9. I normally where size 10-10.5 running shoes which fit nice an snug (as they should). Because of this I was highly doubtful that a size 9 would fit me well so I took a chance and ordered a 9.5. The 9.5 fit quite well, it was somewhat snug on my slightly larger foot (most people have one foot that is slightly larger than the other). I was worried at first that a spot on the snug boot would cause rubbing problems but they wore in nicely and now both sides fit perfectly. Now for the pros and cons. Pros: They are exceptionally waterproof. I live in a State where is rains non-stop and I work outside for 3/4 of my day 10 hours a day. I have yet to end a work day with wet feet and I'm constantly stepping in large puddles of water. Materials are nice. They have a nice heel cup on the inside made out of some material which has a slight amount of tact to it that keeps my feet in place nicely. So far they have held up nicely, though its only been a few weeks (I'll update as time comes). Cons: The right boot (which is on my larger foot side) had an extremely slight material bulge at my pinky toe. I asked several friends to feel about the inside of the boots and tell me if they noticed anything. Most of them noticed the extremely slight bulge by the pinky toe that had something to do with the shoe lace retainer. That was my biggest worry but as I put miles on the boots they wore-in to the point that I now don't regularly feel anything on that side. The boots squeak. At first I thought the exterior squeak in the heel may be a small crack in the material which would lead to a leak. It only occurred after the boots got wet. After further investigating there's a small soft heel insert that goes to the outside of the boot and as you put full weight on your heel it indents outwards causing it to rub ever-so-slightly. It's a small negative but it's also a small positive because the extra heel comfort is quite nice, though I could go without the wet-squeak. All-in-all I'd give the boots a 4.5 out of 5 mostly because of the bulge in the material which I feel was a slight miss on quality control. I am enjoying these boots very much since they've worn in nicely. ... show more

  • Great boots
Size: 11.5 Color: Cascade Brown/Bombay Brown
This is my 2nd pair of pittsburghs. My 1st lasted me 15 years of hiking east and west. Put them through the spanking machine and they took it. The last soles only recently started to separate. Shoe gooed them and they are good to go. The only reason I got a new pair is my feet at 40 are fatter than 25 and I just need more room in them. I don't like the other hiking boots keene has. These have a nice leather section up the tongue to protect from lace bite. They are sturdy and have a couple lace clips to strap up. Definitely have a break in period. Hopefully I take this new to the grave... ... show more

  • First impressions -excellent!
Size: 12 Color: Cascade Brown/Bombay Brown
First Impression- After a week of wear, I love these boots. Very quick break-in, and very comfortable out of the box. In the first week I have soaked them in water, trudged through concrete slurry while pouring a foundation, walked several miles, and have worked in rainy weather as well as hot, sunny weather. My feet feel great at the end of the day...not too hot and never wet (socks are moist from sweat, but not soaked). They feel like a hiking boot, allow for a natural stride on account of the perfect flex point in the shank and built in toe rocker, the tread is excellent and grips very well on a variety of surfaces, the lacing system is effective and efficient, and the Keen-dry membrane is waterproof and very breathable. Build quality is excellent. Other reviewers have mentioned the overly padded tongue, but I don't find it to be thicker than the tongue on other boots I have owned. I can't speak on durability, but if the longevity of my last pair of Keen shoes are any indication of the durabilty of these boots, I expect a good year of hard wear out of them. I am a building contractor and wear my boots all day, every day. I will update after a few months of wear. ... show more

  • Poor quality, the old keen is no more. Poor quality, the old keen is no more.
Size: 8.5 Wide Color: Cascade Brown/Bombay Brown
I am sad to say Keen has lost the quality they once were known for. I bought a new pair of Pittsburgh boots at the beginning of September. Never used them on any hiking trails. Only used for normal walking around in the house and town. The worst these shoes saw was some flat dirt areas around my house. I don't use these for work and I never spent any time squared down in a way that would put pressure on the toe or bend the shoe in a way to put pressure on the sole glue to the shoe. I don't even ware them every day yet the seam around the toe box is coming apart. I am so unhappy with spending this much money on a so called "boot" supposedly made for hiking. Only to have it failing and complete coming abart after 2 ½ months of very light use. I spent $175 on these and it's not to much to think I would get more than 3 months of use out of them. I only wore these 3-4 days a week and a lot of that was just a couple hours after work, because I have steel toe work boots I use for my job. I have had Walmart shoes hold up better than these Pittsburgh's have.. I recommend you don't waist your money and find another brand. I used to love keen and had more than one pair used every day last over a year. However my last 2 pair have fallen apart super fast. I WAS a loyal customer and gave them the benefit of the doubt, maybe I just got a fluke or a bad batch of glue. So I made the choice to buy this 3rd pair. But it's evident not the quality is just gone and they're still charging the same. ... show more

  • Comfortable enough to put up with their flaws.
Size: 11.5 Wide Color: Cascade Brown/Bombay Brown
This is my 2nd pair of these Pittsburgh boots by Keen. The first pair I bought in Anchorage after trying them on. The first pair I got around 12 months of work out of. The left sole really didn't hold up. I had to use half a tube of Shoo Goo to get another month out of them. Laces only lasted a month or so. The supplied insole doesn't have nearly enough arch support for my feet . I have a high and long arch. I got a $ 320.00 set of orthotics at my chiropractor that works very well in these boots. Compared to the Viberg, White's and other high grade leather boots I historically have wore to make a living. These Keen's ain't much. But then they aren't nearly as expensive. However, these boots are COMFORTABLE for all day wear driving and loading the trucks and heavy equipment that I do as my work. I'm5'10" and weigh around 265 lbs and walk on lots of rough gravel, rock and plenty of very mucky mud. And climbing in and out of the cab of trucks up to 125 times a day. An minimum day is 30 round trips in and out of the cab of my truck . It has somewhat aggressive step treads. This new pair has taken about 4 days to mostly break in. These boots are Very slick on Cold ice ! Interior Alaska type cold . Not bad @ 32° F . ... show more

  • Great boots!
Size: 10 Color: Cascade Brown/Bombay Brown
I purchased these boots about three weeks ago. It was after searching for months. The reason it took so long is that I wanted a quality boot that could withstand my high demands. I live in the country and walk two to three miles a day. Besides cutting trees, welding, and construction projects. The land here in Oklahoma is a lot of rocks and clay. At 63 I want good traction and ankle support. These boots have everything I desire to keep firm footing, warm, and waterproof. They also have plenty of toe room and quality leather with good lugs on the treads. I'm very pleased and am confident I made a good choice coming into winter. ... show more

  • Satisfied!!! Satisfied!!!
Size: 11 Color: Cascade Brown/Bombay Brown
The most comfortable work boot ever made!! I have been working warehouse jobs for the past 30 plus years so about 10 years ago I purchased a pair of the same boots used off of Facebook marketplace and they did not disappoint. I tried on my new pair and I tell you nothing compares to the comfort in the toe box and the arch ... show more

  • Great boots, tough break-in
Awesome boots for anyone working outside who is on their feet all day in dirt/mud and wet conditions. Lightweight but very sturdy and durable. However, the break-in was absolutely awful for me which obviously could simply be due to the shape of my foot/ankle. If, like me, Keens normally fit you perfectly and require minimal break-in these are going to be a suprise. It took about 3-4 weeks of all day wear for them to finally feel good - the main problem was the ankle but the arch/footbed is also different than the other pairs of Keens I've had. There were a few days where I had to switch back to my old boots otherwise I would've been completely worthless at work. That said, once they finally were broken in, they have been great. Superior durability, comfort, and support and so far (although after only 2 months) no issues with wet feet. I'm incredibly hard on boots and these boots are in much better condition after 2 months than most others (even some of the Keens) that I've worn over the years. ... show more
