The PU midsoles, and Shellback heel support are used for weightless comfort. Weighing 22.8 oz / 646 g (per boot), made with durable, water-resistant leather and featuring a moisture-wicking lining the San Jose 6” Soft Toe Wedge work boot for men is built off KEEN's traditional wider footwear form. KEEN Utility products offer removable insoles. This dependable work boot is great for medium-duty work in construction, energy, utilities, maintenance, and manufacturing. These are possibly the best things I've strapped to my feet. They wear like iron, they're orthopedic-like comfortable, and they're light. I can (and frequently have) walked upwards of 10 miles in them without a lick of discomfort, much less pain. I have normal-width size-12 feet but for years I bought footwear a size too large (13) so I could enjoy the wider toe box that larger shoes and boots have. Then I bought these. Actually, I bought two pairs in succession. I bought the first pair in my actual footwear size (12). They were too big in every way so I returned them. The second pair I bought in 11.5 Wide. They're still just a touch long, but heel pads perfected the fit. They're probably a touch too wide but my feet still feel supported properly. Some may call the fit a little wide through the toe, but I'd call it perfect. So, expect to buy at least a half size if not full size smaller than your actual size. They run a skosh big. THESE ARE TOUGH! I've had them a little more than a year and have put them to very hard use. Among other places, I work on a ranch in the Northwest with tractors and cattle, cutting up trees and doing ranch-type things. These boots get muddy all day long. I smash them into pretty much everything. Soon after I bought these, I partially sliced through the leather at the outside of the ball of my foot (a very high-stress area). I thought for sure that the leather would fail entirely, but a year on it just looks like a deep scratch. The soles wear like iron. I gouged the sides a few times (one really badly on the inside of my right heel, see photo) and there are a few chunks missing from climbing around on scrap metal. But the wear is almost negligible a year on. I wear these boots every day, even in the summertime and even when I don't have physical work. I even wear the things with cargo shorts. They're just that comfortable. The insoles have just the right amount of give and the soles themselves flex well (but are rigid enough to protect your feet from pokey things). I'm rough on gear and these things are highly scuffed, so i wasn't expecting them to look that great even after some pampering. But the pro who waxed these for me did such a great job that you'd think they were supposed to look that way. They've taken on a distressed finish that resembles a well-worn catcher's mitt. Often I regret not buying the waterproof version, but the toe is thicker on those and they don't feel quite the same. But I do not regret buying these boots. I just hope that Keen keeps making them. Because I really don't feel like having to hoard spares for the long haul. They're that good. I love them. ... show more

I went to a Boot store and couldn’t find a pair I liked. I bought and tried these and wow! These are an amazing look and comfort. I realized like just about every boot there is a bit more room in them which I assume is to allow for thicker socks. But I am used to wearing athletic shoes which always fit snug. I put an extra pair of insoles in them which helped a lot. I’ve been wearing these for 45 days and love the style and comfort. Super nice leather too! ... show more

These boots ran a half dive big and we’re already wide so no need to get “wide” ones. I replaced the strings with raw hide because the original would come loose to easily. I’m going to try the Cincinnati model next time to see which one I like best. I decided to go with this boot because Thorogood’s are so expensive. They seem comparable and overall I’m very happy with this boot. ... show more

My favorite boot by far now is barely worth the money.. my last two pairs I have had over three years.. one is wearing thin and popping at the seams but I love them they fit great they aren’t work out totally and the soles are still in great shape but I ordered a new pair becauseninsaw a sale and they sent me a very tall toe area cheap hard plastic looking leathered boot that is hardly anything like my first boots. I had been waiting and waiting for them to put out the black San Jose 6” soft toe boot again but they never did. My dad bout a pair and had them modified a bit at a cobbler and they looked amazing! I was ready to buy a few pairs but after a year or so of looking and trying they never came out again. I bought these gingerbread ones again and am severely disappointed they are nothing like my first pairs. They quality is cheap and leather is different and plastic like. I might try to buy a different style once but pretty much I think I’ll never buy keen again. Unless I can get them in store and find something worthwhile again. I have loved their boots for over 12 years and am upset over this last purchase.. and I would return them if I wasn’t a lazy man who hopes for the best in a company and just deals with what he’s given.. hoping to be impressed with them again someday ... show more

I've tried several boots from Amazon The Keen boot, for me - is the most comfortable! I do warehouse maintenance, basically On My Feet all day on concrete flooring. The work I do doesn't really require safety toe so I ended up purchasing the soft Moc toe still a great boot had it for about 6 months still holds up. Feels 100% genuine leather. The wedge heel is not that thick which made it more attractive to me. Over all great boot for my feet. ... show more
