  • Spent the money on your feet
Size: 14 Wide Color: Black
Great boots. I wear a 15w and keens are a great fit. These have rubber wrapping the top of the steel toe so it eleminates toe rub through. Oil tamed leather and viburum sole, water proof and holding up great. I'm on my feet all day and have plantar fasciitis and heel Spurs, the custom orthotics fit fine and the boot mid gives good support. I have been in these every day for 4 months and have had minimal issues. My only complaint is one of the lace hooks came off in the first week from a rivet that wasn't centered when it was expanded. This did not sour me on the boots. Other wise the cut, quality, fit, and finish are great on these boots. Spend money on your feet, you'll miss them when they're used up. ... show more

  • The best
Size: 9.5 Color: Black
The vest work boots I have ever bought. They are comfortable, durable, keep my feet safe and dry. They are not as heavy as other steel toe boots. The arch support helps my huge arches. They are easy to slide on and off. The insoles are very comfortable. They are easy to clean with the slick leather. Slip resistant soles keep me safe from falling. These are my all-time favorite pair of work boots. ... show more

  • Make the cut? #update#
Size: 12 Color: Black
I'll give a four star. Only been wearing them for a few days. So far so good, they are comfortable and did have enough room for a second insole which I normally do anyway. Will report back when I get some hard hours on them. Figured I'd update this since I no longer wear these, they lasted almost 2yrs. The soles just fell apart but the railroad is hard on boots. The boot itself is in great condition, but they became uncomfortable due to the soles being shot. Would I buy again? Only if the sole is redesigned. ... show more

  • I've found my sole-mate.
I'm currently wearing my second pair. The first pair held up for about six months of abuse, which I normally wouldn't consider a good thing, but my job deals with a lot of sharp-edged metal and kicking heavy things (no kidding, sometimes a well placed kick aligns metal frame better than a hammer). These boots protected me from everything, even a rogue nail that I stepped on. I felt it almost breach the arch, but my foot remained untouched. The major reason why I love these boots so much is the comfort. I've tried a few different brands recommend by my job and coworkers first. When I saw that Keen also carried work boots, I knew I had to try them. I have several pairs of their water sandals, and I used to have a pair of leather barefoot sole style boots that are now out of production that were my favorite footwear until they eventually disintegrated. They really know feet. Since switching to Keen work boots, the issues created by other brands (corns, arch aches, blisters, discoloration) have been eliminated. At the end of a10-12 hour shift, my feet are still in good shape. ... show more

  • Sturdy shoe for the workplace.. with a few issues.
I've tried numerous brands and styles of safety toe in my adult life. This is my first experience with Keen. I bought these as a replacement for my combat boots that I wore during the later part of my military career. I now work in a machine shop and I am on my feet, on oily concrete, for about 10 hours a day. Some days I'm walking nonstop, some days I'm standing in the same spot the entire time, some days I'm crouched, hunched, or on the trapeze 40 feet in the air on a beam. I needed a shoe that could handle all of that without killing my feet/legs/back. The two biggest reasons for buying these are my back/leg pain from my old ones, and with winter approaching, the slippery heel of the combat boots. Those things might as well be ice skates. I've had these for several weeks now. Out of the box, I could tell they are going to last a while. It had nice thick, sturdy leather, a scuff resistant material covering the toe and lower arch, and a good tread. The insole seemed okay at the time. Upon trying them on, they fit well but didn't feel much different than my old boots in the comfort category. I figured they just needed to be broken in. On the first day at work with them, I noticed several things. I used a hiker's lacing to keep my heel as far back as possible because they were a little snugger around the toe than anticipated.. bad idea. The "padding" at the top of the shoe put a nice sized indent into my achilles that was almost too painful to bear after 10 hours of wear. I also noticed the heaviness and bulk of the shoe, most likely a product of it's sturdy construction. There is so much padding around the ankle that wearing normal slacks can be annoying when they ride up on top of the shoe after kneeling or getting out of the car. Day two was somewhat better. I used a modified hiker's lace to give me a little more room. Unfortunately that made the bunching of the pant leg a little worse. After several days of adjusting, as well as them breaking in a little (very stiff leather at first), they are actually nice to wear. However, even after several weeks, I still suffered from back and foot pain at the end of the day. I turned my attention to the insole. After pulling the removable one out a few days ago, I noticed it was very worn and now hard as a rock. I immediately hopped online and ordered a pair of gels. I got them today so stay tuned on an update on that. After a short test drive this afternoon, the gels seem, by far, way more comfortable than the original inserts. I'll keep you posted. Pros: - Well built and sturdy - Great slip resistance - Excellent foot protection (saved mine a few times already) and scuff resistance - Look cool (I've gotten several positive comments) Cons: - Heavy and bulky - Horrible "foot bed" (insole) - Very long break in time - Price (I payed $147) Bottom line: So far, overall, these are just okay. If you want a shoe that will protect your tootsies and still look nice in a hostile environment, these might be a good option, but if you are looking for out-of-the-box comfort, I say look elsewhere. ... show more

  • Dependable
Size: 11.5 Color: Black
Fabulous boot. My 3rd pair of Keens 2nd model. I had the Mt Vernon 2x before. It was a great looking boot, but this is more comfortable by far. They run an oversize width as regular and fit my wider size 11 feet. Very happy. Thank you Keen for making a dependable predictable boot!
