Reflective safety features run the entire length of the shoe for added visibility. Asymmetrical steel toes improve the fit, and a TPU stability shank adds support. A slip- and oil-resistant sole amp up the safety factor. Weighing 23.15 oz / 656 g (per shoe), made with durable, waterproof leather and featuring a moisture-wicking lining. This boot is built off KEEN's traditional wider footwear form. Need to change out your insoles for orthotic or comfort reasons? No problem – KEEN Utility products offer removable insoles. This dependable work boot is great for medium-duty work in construction, landscaping, warehouse distribution and transportation work. VERY sturdy, very well made, comfortable but HEAVY. I mean it's a steel-toe boot so expect that but these seem really heavy. Not worried at all about anything crushing my toes and that's why you buy these, yeah?

    • Good work boots but has some cons

I recently purchased these work boots and after breaking them in, I have mixed feelings about them. While the boots do have some pretty good features, it also has a few drawbacks. One of the key features of these work boots is the waterproof leather material. I found this to be quite effective in keeping my feet dry, even when working in wet conditions. The moisture-wicking lining also did a decent job of keeping my feet comfortable and preventing excessive sweating. However, I did notice that the boots took a while to dry out after being exposed to water, which was a bit inconvenient. Another safety feature of these boots is the slip and oil-resistant sole. I appreciated the added traction and stability this provided, especially when working on slippery surfaces. It definitely enhanced my confidence in terms of avoiding accidents and maintaining my balance. I must admit, though, I noticed some signs of wear and tear, particularly in areas that were exposed to oil and grease, so long-term durability could be an issue if working under these conditions regularly. Comfort-wise, these boots are somewhat average. The fit was true to size, and the padding provided a decent level of support. The boots were a bit on the heavy side, which caused some fatigue during long workdays, but I've grown accustomed to this over time. ... show more

Love these boots so far! Takes about a weeks time working in them of course to properly break them in up in the toe section and I even got the 12 wide but then perfectly snug and protective! I would suggest putting in your own insoles because the ones they come with aren’t great but everyone’s feet are different! ... show more

When I first got these boots, they were amazing. They were just as comfortable to wear as my dedicated hiking boots. But starting about 4 or 5 months into daily wear, I started to notice a lump forming in the sole just under my little toe in both boots. It got progressively worse and worse, until by about 6 months, these boots were too uncomfortable to wear. That lump was not there when I bought them, and by the time I replaced them, was about 1/4 inch high. I contacted Keen directly and they replaced the boots with no problem and at no cost to me, so that's a big plus. On receiving the new boots, I removed the footbed liner and compared the new boots to the old ones. Definitely no lump in the new boots. Then... being a curious idiot, I took out my medic shears and cut open the old boots (see attached photos). It turns out that there's a little pocket under the little toe, and it was full of fine sand! I walk a lot in the desert (I'm a field geologist) and during my work, fine sand had filtered down through the mesh uppers, worked its way down the side between the outer part and the goretex liner, and filled that little pocket below my toe. Once I emptied out the sand, the footbed was flat again. So there you go. These are really nice and comfortable work boots, but if you're going to be walking around in sand for most of your work day, get the Keen model with solid leather uppers instead of these with the mesh. I would give them more stars in my review if I could do it conditionally. These are amazing work boots, so much more comfortable than the ones I've used before, but after three months walking in sand dunes, they were useless. I do recommend them though if you're not working in sand, and their customer service was stellar! ... show more
