The Men’s Independence 8” work boots feature KEEN Luftcell, an air-infused midsole used for weightless comfort that meets ASTM D471-06 oil and isooctane chemical resistance standards. Weighing 25.3 oz / 717 g (per boot), made with durable, waterproof leather, and featuring a moisture-wicking lining the Independence 8" composite toe waterproof work boots for men are built off KEEN's traditional wider footwear form. KEEN Utility products offer removable insoles. These dependable work boots are great for medium-duty work in construction, masonry, utilities, landscaping, maintenance, and transportation. All KEEN Utility products are consciously created using PFC-free water repellent, and leather sourced from Leather Working Group (LWG)-certified tanneries. KEEN Utility believes in creating work boots that make work and life better. To further support that mission, KEEN Utility has been “Putting Good to Work” through its non-profit partnerships within the Project Build program. There is a stiff component within the ankle area that rubs just below the outer ankle joint … blisters the area ! … they are , so far, very water proof ! , the foot bed is very thin under the toe pad area (1/4”) but they are pretty comfortable w/exception of the mentioned ankle area … ones I got state “made in USA” “Portland oregon “ … which it’s nice to know there’s still some América existing there , of note : it’s only my left ankle that was effected so poss a manu. Defect …the boots are on the north slope of Alaska now ,where I work , and I’m not going to bother trying to send back …I’m happy so far.. oh by the way STAY AWAy from the thurogood boot ..they are absolute junk !!!! I’ve been buying Keen boots for about 20 years. These are the best I have owned so far. I’ve been wearing them daily at work for 2 months. Comfortable, waterproof, excellent ankle support, they lace up easily. I hope keen doesn’t discontinue this boot because that has happened to me before. I’m considering buying another pair just in case they stop making this version. I just want a light weight solid leather waterproof boot with safety toe. I don’t want a dumb heavy thick boot with a bunch of glorified pieces and colors added to the exterior. ... show more

These are good quality boots. I'm only giving 4 stars because they hurt my toe. Many other boots do the same, so I can only blame my toe.

My old boots were red wing king toes for the last 20 years but the have gone up in price over the years and haven't been happy with the high price tag. These boot came in at about half the price and so far just as quality of a boot as my old ones

First pair lasted two seasons of concrete mixer driving and still waterproof just fallig aparthowever i used Nor v gen boot oil when brand new then once a month faithfully ive tryed this on cheaper boots with no luck these keen boots are tough and comfortable and built to last will buy again as long as they have lace tag made in usa ... show more
