Description

This hiking shoe is ready for off-road adventure. Durable KEEN.DRY waterproof protection stands up to wet weather, and the lug outsole adds traction. This waterproof hiking shoe keeps your feet dry and lets them breathe, and the aggressive outsole bites into varied terrains. It's built for all-day comfort, and the low-cut design allows for a wider range of motion. Weighing 15.4 oz / 436.6 g (per shoe), made with durable, waterproof leather, and featuring a moisture-wicking lining, the Targhee 2 waterproof hiking shoes for men are built off KEEN's traditional wider footwear form. KEEN is a values-led, family-owned maker of original hybrid footwear for working and playing outside. Since 2003, KEEN has been creating sandals, boots, shoes, and sneakers in its mission to make the outdoors more accessible for everyone. Every KEEN product is Consciously Created to help leave the planet better than we found it. Targhee II Hiking Shoe Available in shoe and boot styles, Keen Men's Targhee II is the ideal hiking partner. The rugged Targhee II gives you the comfort and support of an athletic shoe and the resilience and protective features of a rough-and-tough hiking boot. This style keeps your feet dry and your step steady thanks to a waterproof nubuck upper, 4-millimeter multi- directional lugs, and a Keen.Dry waterproof membrane. And for exceptional support mile after mile, the Targhee II combines an S3 heel structure with a dual-density, compression-molded EVA midsole and a Keen Metatomical EVA footbed. This low-profile shoe stands up to any trail conditions and looks good doing it, thanks to a durable, waterproof nubuck upper with stitching accents and pops of bright color on the laces and around the heel.Breathable Moisture Protection with Keen.Dry To keep you treading comfortably on all kinds of terrain, the Targhee II features a Keen.Dry insert. This waterproof membrane offers an additional barrier against moisture yet is breathable enough for all-day comfort.S3 Heel Support S3 stands for Shock, Suspension, and Stability and refers to Keen's unique heel-support structure. S3 is engineered to support the foot on impact, which dissipates shock, helping to prevent injury to the ankle.Keen Metatomical Footbed and EVA Midsole for Support For comfort and support that won't quit, the Targhee II features a removable, dual-density EVA footbed that provides arch support by hugging the natural contours of your foot. The compression-molded EVA midsole extends the benefits of the footbed and adds an extra spring to your step.ESS Shank Reduces Foot Fatigue To keep you going longer, the Targhee II has a torsional-stability ESS shank in the midsole. This shank helps to stabilize your foot as you move, minimizing fatigue, so you can enjoy every moment as you push on to the next crest.Multi- Directional Lugs for Greater Traction To give you a steady grip on all kinds of terrain, the Targhee has 4-millimeter, multi-directional lugs on its non- marking rubber outsole. These lugs are spaced wide apart to "bite" into the terrain, giving you more dependable traction on slippery and uneven surfaces.Patented Toe Protection Because rocky objects and debris can trip you up on the trail, the Targhee II includes Keen.Protect, patented toe protection that wraps up and over the outsole for thorough coverage of the entire toe bed.Keen: A Story of Hybrid Innovation Keen began in 2003 with an inspired sandal design that combined comfort and toe protection. This radical design departure for sandals spawned the overriding Keen philosophy of hybrid innovation--striving to create new possibilities and to discover and implement original ideas. Keen products put an emphasis on the joys of play. At the same time, Keen believes in the value of working hard to give back to the community. To that end, the company has partnered with non-profit organizations around the world to help get youth into the outdoors, protect land for its environmental and recreational value, and to give bikes to kids in need. What's in the Box Keen Men's Targhee II Hiking Shoe.

  • Big Foot
I have had several pair of keen size 13 but they are just a little snug. The size 14 is perfect and I can wear any socks I want with them. They are new but I have no reason to doubt that will take the beating my others have and give me a shoe I can wear for a couple of years.

  • At first I loved them, then two pair fell apart
Sole: %100 Style: %85 Fit: %90 (nice roomy toe, good for wider feet) Weather resistance: %90 (no they aren't rubber but as long as they don't fall apart water stays out) General construction: %20* (see below) Lacing: %75 (comfortable but tend to come untied) I love they way these shoes wear and fit. They are fairly "waterproof" and they lace up nicely (although as someone else stated they tend to come untied no matter what the knot style you use). I wear these shoes as "everyday sneakers" about three times per week. I don't really beat them up much more than a run at the dog park every now and then. The problem with my first pair began about 6 months after I owned them. The glue that holds the rubber sole to the upper body on the outer side of the shoe began to loosen and eventually came open (on BOTH shoes). No problem, they are warrantied for a year so I took them back to the local shop and they replaced them with a like pair (in Walnut). The old shoe sales manager said "yeah we've seen a lot more returned Keens lately for quality issues). The second pair became unstitched where the outer leather is stitched to the flexible gray fabric up near the toe on top. I thought "wow Keen has really slipped in quality". Within a few more months the other shoe came unstitched at exactly the same point. With just a few days left on the warranty I went back downtown to the show shop and to my surprise they had gone out of business (after 75 years in business). I continued to wear them anyway but at this point the inner liner is exposed and they take on water at just over 13 months old. Otherwise the shoes are in excellent shape with very little wear. So that is 4 separate shoes that either came unglued or unstitched in less than 6 months wear. I've spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on keens over the years (we probably have 6-8 pairs in our house) and I won't be buying anymore since their quality has quite clearly fallen off. ... show more

  • Great hiking or working footwear
Size: 10 Color: Gargoyle/Midnight Navy
They look great and they feel even better. Sizes true to fit, very short breaking In period and Waterproof for the first couple months. You have to treat them to continue making them waterproof, but even without treating they stay pretty dry.

  • Great fit
My husband loves these shoes! He generally wears a 16 but ordered a 17 in these. He likes his shoes a bit loose and these are perfect. Bought them for an upcoming winter trip to Germany.

  • Reliable fit, good durability, some sole problems
Size: 12 Color: Gargoyle/Midnight Navy
My third pair of Keen hiking gear, Sandals, high top, and the ankle height. The wide toe box is a big plus. Very comfortable. Size varies with these shoes, high tops are larger for the stated size, sandals are a little small, these shoes hit spot on for a size 12. Well made but I know after a while, the soles will start to detach. They are compound soles, with two layers of dissimilar color and composition. They come apart in the arches and toes. Nothing you can do about it except keep a. Tube of shoe goo around to fix them. Seems the original method of affixing the soles gets old and releases. Not a problem unless you are mid hike. Having said that, and it is the same for all of my Keen purchases, they readily can be fixed. It’s my third pair, right, so if I can fix them I will. Upper shoe quality is very high and the toe jambs are quite rugged. These are the most comfortable hiking brand I have used. ... show more

  • The Best!
First of all, I'm a UPS driver, therefore excellent footwear is a must. After many failed attempts at finding some good shoes that will be durable, waterproof, and comfortable, I came across these shoes from Keen. They were tops in each of those categories. It could be expected that most new shoes will need at least a minimal amount of time to "break them in." But these Keens felt like I had been wearing them forever on the first day! The waterproof protection on these shoes is great as well - I never hesitated at any puddle or stream of water. I would highly recommend these shoes! ... show more
