My 20-foot aluminum fishing boat is used almost daily, resulting in significant wear and tear. I'd used self-adhesive fender strips before, but they tended to peel up at the edges after exposure to direct sunlight and immersion in cold water, eventually detaching completely. This time, I specifically chose this non-self-adhesive keel protector because of its more reliable fixing method. I opted for stainless steel bolts for installation. Although drilling required extra care, once installed, it felt like an integral part of the hull, incredibly secure.
