I rarely write a review. The reason that I am taking the time to do this is, I want to say kudos to KD frames company. This is a fantastic product. Made in the USA, good old-fashioned natural wood, very well thought out design and plan, easy to understand instructions and had it assembled in an hour. You hit this on the head. I was very skeptical. I am a platform bed user from way back and I am so impressed with this bed frame. Purchased a tri-fold 6-in memory foam mattress for this frame. Slept on it last night. Amazingly easy to set up and break down. Thank you for a great product. Excellent price point. Stores away beautiful. Will use it for years.

I’ve been using this queen size bed frame for over five years and it’s done just what I needed it to do. No problem setting it up, though I did it backwards the first time, which is my usual discombobulation. Fixed no problem and have been using it ever since. Very sturdy, no frills, solid bedframe. I took some 1/2” ply to make a smooth top on it, bolted it on in two pieces to make a totally smooth top on the bedframe. The minimalist foam mattress that had been on it now doesn’t sink in between the slats and still breathes. It’s a thin firm foam mattress, only 4” thick so I could feel the slats a bit. I use a two inch latex topper on it so now it’s just perfect for my needs. I like that this frame is low. Most mattresses are now much thicker than what I use so it shouldn’t be an issue for anyone else. I will be selling my house next year so am glad it folds up and I’ll be able to ship it easily. I am very glad I got this, and will be getting a new headboard for it in my new place. I highly recommend this bed frame as it’s so sturdy. I have had a number of beds with material slats and I don’t like them. This frame is solid and there’s not much to hit with a vacume underneath. My cats like it too!

After countless hours on Wayfair and big box furniture retailers looking at bedframes, I finally found this KD Frame. I was so sick of every frame being crappy, flimsy slats with a fancy looking trim/headboard for $500+. There is none of that nonsense here. This is a quality bedframe constructed from real hardwood, and it's USA made. It is sturdy and holds a LOT of weight. It even folds in half for easy storage, and is fairly lightweight compared to other frames I've had in the past. I am thinking of getting a 2nd one for my spare room, to use as a guest bed when family or friends visit, since it folds up neatly. At $200~ this is a steal. There are no bells or whistles here, but if you like understated and functional then this is the bedframe for you. NOTE: Assembly should really be a two-person job, and I could see it being challenging for an older person since there are lot of pieces. The paper instructions are not great; I finally figured it out after watching the assembly video in the Amazon photos here (although that video is for the twin size; I had to refer back to the paper instructions to make sure I wasn't missing steps for the Queen size. The assembly for twin vs queen had minor differences). Allocate an afternoon and some light swearing to piece this together, but the value is there once you're done. It is fairly low to the ground, so keep that in mind if height is important to you.

This bed frame is super impressive! The design is simple, yet extremely well thought out and functional. It folds up perfectly to be stored away and is very sturdy and functions better than a lot of bed frames that don’t do anything cool like fold in half. I love the Nordic style unfinished wood and overall minimalist aesthetic of this bed frame, I purchased it for my guest room and have already recommended it to so many friends and family. The queen tri-fold mattress I purchased for this bed fits perfectly on the bed frame. When not in use, I can stowaway the mattress and bed frame in the guest room and have more space for other activities. I did a lot of research on guest bed solutions, and I’m extremely happy with my purchase.

We have a folding queen mattress in the guest room. When guests aren't here, we fold the mattress in half. It was great to finally find a base that also folds in half the same way. When it's all folded, it makes a great daybed. Assembly was pretty simple. I (a woman) did it myself. Some of the slats were discolored, but there was a paper saying that over time, it will all lighten to a uniform color. Also, one of the pieces was chipped. With it all assembled, everything looks fine.

1000% recommend especially for the pricing! I also recommend using power drill for faster instal but overall the general instal was common sense. Like other comments say as well, watch the video. The only thing I noticed that was left out of the video was 1 left over wood bar and reinforcement screws with bolts. It goes right in the middle of the bed and doesn't interrupt folding at all.
