We had an electrician install this so I can’t speak to the installation process but it looks really nice. Our ceilings are not very tall so we didn’t use the pole that is included to lengthen it because we wanted the fixture to be as close to the ceiling as possible. The light once installed and figured out is great. I say that because mine came broken and I had to "fix" it in order for it to hold well. All in all I would recommend it. We put this up in our loft/library area and it looks great! It came fully put together so all we had to do was unbox and hang it up. The color is definitely a brushed gold, not brass which is a plus. It’s not too yellow or orange. The instructions were rather useless so we didn’t bother with them too much.
