I used to just keep replacing 2"faux wood blinds due to my dog and two cats. They would break them almost immediately. I love these. They're practically indestructible. My only suggestion would be to make the blinds able to pull down to initiate sliding it up. Other than that. They're great! UPDATE: Have ordered more, the last two I've gotten have come defective. The KCO Cordless Roller Shade arrived double-boxed in perfect shape. It includes the hardware you will need to hang it and it was a welcome sight to find that an additional long screw, drywall insert, short screw, and nut were included in case I lost one down the floor vent. I wish all companies did that. It was fairly easy to install. The hardware employed provides latitude for adjustments to be made if too close or too far from the wall. Just loosen a screw and move it until it's just right. The instructions are neither bad nor good. Even if you haven't done this before, they will suffice. I like the "free-stop" nature of the shade. You don't have to set the tension when first installed like older types of shades. Simply pull or lift on the plastic pull on the aluminum tube bottom and let go wherever. They stay. No chains or cords either. One drawback I noticed is that the bottom can become crooked with use. I found I could correct this by pulling in the opposite direction of the higher side a time or two. This material is not the typical slick vinyl used on many of these shades. You can see the texture in the photo. But it still feels like vinyl. Like most of KCO's competitors, KCO claims these provide thermal insulation and I expected to see something that looked like it provided thermal insulation. Don't be taken in like I was. Technically, a sheet of vinyl between a window and a room can be called thermal insulation. So go ahead, insulate your windows like me. I got the white, not the gray. I hoped it would do a good job blocking light and it does. All-in-all, it's a pretty good shade that installs easily and functions as advertised. ... show more

The first fail is that this product didn't come with any instructions and I had to reference the actual product page to see how the mounting clips attach to the window. You have to make sure there is about 1/4th of an inch clearance away from the wall if you do an inside mount, or the mount won't bend to lock itself onto the shade. So the installation wasn't really hard but I shouldn't have to stop and reference the product page for the install. After it was installed I noticed it's just so plain and basic without any kind of texture that you'll notice all the flaws in how it was manufactured. The rollers also have too large a gap on each side to where whenever you roll the window back up and then down again, the actual shade will hang to the left or right and not the center. So in the end you have this lopsided shade that looks like a vinyl table runner with visible creases all over it. However, it does block light.. ... show more

I am slowly, but surely replacing all of the old corded blinds in my home with cordless, child safe blinds and this did not disappoint. My husband mounted it within just a few minutes with no issues. I made sure to order a size a few inches wider than my bathroom window since I knew it would be an outside mount and it blocks the light so well you wouldn't know if it's day or night when it's pulled all the way down. This is easy to install, the directions are helpful. It rolls up and down smoothly. I put it on a long window next to a door that is made to look like French doors (but only one opens).
