Surprisingly, the ice making noise level is not bad at all. This is my first time using nuggets size ice in my drinks and I am in love with them ! They are visually appealing and tastes good . No more bulky ice cubes for me ! I would highly recommend as it is functional and great for daily use and entertainment . Perfect for an office break room as well. I love that this ice maker makes the perfect nugget ice and that it dispenses at the touch of a button. It’s easy to refill and empty when needed. The largest negative with this machine is that it does drop stray pieces of ice as it’s making ice. I use the funnel it comes with and a small glass the catch the ice so they don’t land on the counter or floor. It’s not cute, but it is effective. The tray will not catch it all. It’s also fairly loud when it’s in “making ice” mode. However, none of that would keep me from purchasing another one when this one eventually dies. I’ve only had it a couple of months, but I no longer have to get ice weekly from the store and I have free space in the freezer. It fits under in the counter under standard cabinets. ... show more

    • Noisy but works great so far

We have had the ice maker set up and using it for about five days now. It works great. It is a little on the noisy side. If we did not have an open-concept Kitchen and living room or if we had a butler pantry we could put this in, then it would be perfect. We did have to turn it off one night because we were watching a movie and the machine was pretty noisy. Other than the noise, so far, we have been very happy with it. I will post an updated review if that changes. Things I recommend for the next model is working on the noise level. Ease of use and functionality is great.     • Nice but not with the extra, extra cost

I bought this, hoping that it would be the replacement for my current countertop unit that you have to scoop out the ice. I can’t control who’s in my environment and I guess you can say that I’m a German for. I just can’t stand the thought of someone reaching in to pick up an ice cube because they just wanted one. This would’ve solve the problem. However, unlike my countertop unit, the ice that melts doesn’t generate new ice so you have a constant supply. The first couple of days we got it we’re great! We were using it and loving it. Then we went away for the weekend. When we came back, no ice with dispenser and you could hear the auger turning but you couldn’t hear any ice in the bed. I tried to find access to the bin and could not and verified through , the seller that you cannot access the ice bin. That was very frustrating so I felt like it made it difficult to troubleshoot. We had a Fourth of July barbecue at our house. I was so excited to show everyone my new icemaker! But I was embarrassed instead. It produced so little ice that the first person who got ice really got all the ice. It does make ice within eight minutes, but who has time to sit there and wait for it to make ice so your guests can have a drink? We ended up having to go buy a bag of ice instead. After this fiasco, I decided to do some investigating. Before bed I emptied the machine of all the water, and then I refilled it and then I programmed it to make ice. In the morning, I couldn’t believe it. I had to measure it twice. It only gave me 4 cups of ice. So this time instead of empty all the water out, I just re-added water and ran the ice until it ran out of ice. This time I seem to get a little bit less but it was still roughly 4 cups of ice. I was shocked! It’s a very big machine and takes up a lot of countertop real estate, so I thought the holding capacity would be much larger. I wrote the manufacture and ask the questions about how many cups of ice does it make at a time and how much does that bin really hold. Instead the return that I got back was about the troubleshooting steps that I had already done. I did not find their customer service in that regard to be very helpful at all and so I decided to return this unit. It’s a very nice unit though! ... show more

First of all it does make great nugget ice but not nearly enough and too slow. Dispenses great but no way to see how much ice is available and seemed like 20 ounces tops. Hate the manual fill with no option to hook up to water supply. Hate the misrepresentation in description that it makes 30+ lbs in 24 hrs when the manual says it is only capable of making 24 lbs. When making ice it sounded like kittens being tortured. The refrigerant used is FLAMMABLE—didn’t expect that! The maintenance is ridiculous. Read the manual BEFORE you buy—returned and purchased a cheaper nugget maker that is a true delight. Totally regret purchasing this KBIce ice maker. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I loved this for the first few months, but it now is SO LOUD, so much so that we have to turn it off because it sounds like crunching metal. It also no longer produces ice. I have contacted the seller and waiting to hear back. We have always used this according to directions and clean it regularly. Kbice sent a replacement unit and it’s working (so far). Hopefully it lasts more than a few months, but appreciate the customer service. ... show more
