  • very nice back up paddle, Fully adjustable angle, and very Packable
I got this kayak paddle for two main reasons. One, to take it with me as a back up paddle, while I'm out kayaking. There would be nothing worse than losing your paddle, and not being able to track it down. At least with a back up paddle, it will make getting to your other paddle easier. This paddle breaks down, making it perfect for a spare, to keep in the storage compartment of my kayak. Or, even under the bungee straps on the outside. Reason 2, I have a couple of paddle boards, and the one you can attach a full kayak seat to it, so you can use it almost like a sit on top of kayak. But, you cannot use a standup paddleboard Paddle, to paddle a kayak. I mean technically you could, but it would be really hard, switching one side than the other. The paddleboard also has bungee cords on the outside, a lot like a kayak, for storage purposes. Again this paddle is perfectly broken into pieces, and stuffed into the storage area on the paddleboard. You can stand up and paddle all you want, and then connect the seat and sit down, and switch paddles. This paddle makes a great addition to my Outdoor water gear. Great for anybody who kayaks, or paddle boards, or both. It is very well-made, very Sturdy with firm ends, very adjustable for different heights and Attack angles, Great for leisure paddling, or speed. Highly recommended. Whether it is a replacement, or back up. ... show more

  • Very lightweight kayak paddle
This review is for the Kayak Paddle, Kayaking Oars for Boating and Canoeing, Floating, Adjustable Kayak Paddle, 207-220cm/81.5-86.6 inch... Offered by the LZRLSHS Store. This paddle is truly lightweight. It connects quickly and easily, just be carefull, since the connecting edges can be sharp. It extends up to a little over 7 feet, so it should work for most paddlers. There is no padding on the handles, so you may want to add your own. It's a little pricey at $55.00, but it is a unique style and lightweight option. I would order again. ... show more

  • Excellent, Affordable Paddle
I paddle 16-18 foot touring kayaks, both in near-shore ocean and inland lake locations. I ordered this paddle to have a spare that would break down small enough to fit inside the kayak’s storage hatches. It will work great for that, but since I can’t access those storage compartments while seated in a kayak, this will only be spare for narrower inland lakes where I can get myself to a safe landing on shore (drift, paddle by hand, etc.) to access the spare. It’s not kayak season yet at my location, so I haven’t paddled with the paddle yet. PROS: I am impressed with this paddle for the low cost of $55.99. The shaft sections are a black composite material, not aluminum. The blades are made of a molded plastic and are quite stiff. There’s a stiffening channel on the back of the blades that may cause some cavitation or inefficiency but that’s fine for a spare paddle. And, the paddle is impressively light for a low-priced paddle. I weighed it at 30.9 ounces using an accurate digital postal scale. I measured the minimum length at 207cm (81.5 inch). I could extend it to 220cm (86.5 inch) but the joint felt pretty flexible out that far. I wouldn’t extend it beyond 217cm (85.5 inch). The joint is easy to adjust and clamps securely. CONS: There are no markings on the joint to indicate the feather angle, nor the maximum length to which the paddle can be extended safely. Pull too far and it comes apart – that’s how you know how far is too far. Also, while the joint clamps securely, there is no way to adjust it if it should ever loosen up. There is a metal screw with a trapped hex nut, but no means to tighten it up if ever needed. There is also a tiny bit of looseness in the joints where the blades attach, but it’s very slight and I don’t think I could feel it when paddling. And a last con is that the shaft sections are not sealed. Water will get inside if you drop the paddle in the water. I am not deducting from rating for these CONS because I think the paddle is a great value. The paddle feels sturdy and it’s impressively light. It should make a great spare for me, or a primary paddle for anyone who is a little short on packing space. ... show more

  • Great quality
This kayak paddle is a great paddle for the price. It’s strong and durable and has two settings so you adjust the length. It has an easy latch to adjust and turn each paddle slightly so if you prefer your paddles to be off centered a bit you can do that. The latch is durable and locks your paddles in place. Have used this paddle a few times when kayaking and my son has even used it for his fishing kayak and he loves it. ... show more

  • Lightweight and compact
The paddle is easy to put together. The paddle end snap in place easily and have little movement. The angle of the paddle adjusts with the clamps. The clamps can screw tighter if the shaft of the paddle starts slipping. The paddle is very light weight and easy on the shoulders. The blade design grabs water and propels the kayak or SUP easily. It's a nice paddle for the recreational user. This paddle will work well for users of most sized adults/teenagers. ... show more

  • lightweight, collapsible, but shorter than standard
Be aware of the overall length before purchasing, as this does size shorter than standard paddles. I personally like that it's shorter, as I'm able to get in more paddle-strokes and it gives me better reaction time for turning, etc. This would make a good whitewater-type paddle, but for that purpose it maybe a bit long. I've considered 4-piece collapsible carbon paddles from big name-brand companies, but they always retailed in the $200-$400 range. I eventually settled on a cheaper 2-piece carbon paddle, but always wanted a compact 4-piece. I was amazed that this could retail in the $55 range... how far they have come in the last 10 years. Everything snaps into place properly, and there's no serious wiggle here. It feels as stable as my 2-piece paddles. Nice and lightweight. Very fun to use. Again, due to the shorter length, I'd be paddling at a higher-rate, but I honestly feel like I was moving faster, and certainly tracking in a straighter line. Overall, very pleased with this purchase. ... show more
