I got this becasue I really like to use a kayak paddle on my paddle board. I just find it easier. I love that this can be super extended so it works great for standing, and then you can easily shorten it so you can kneel or sit and paddle regularly. It was easy to put together and then it take one second to break down or put together after that. I do really worry about the effects of saltwater on the nuts and bolts that you have to use to put the blade on the shaft, I am wondering how long those will last. The leash is awesome to include, I often worry about losing my paddle in a frenzy or if I tip, now I don't have to worry about it.

I take my family to the beach a lot for stand-up paddling. My kids, that are in college now, tend to sit down and paddle the boards in the lagoon area at Ala Moana beach park in Honolulu. There’s no waves in the lagoon, maybe kiss now days are lazy? IDK. Anyway, I wanted a kayak paddles that I think wold best suit their needs and this adjustable version fit the bill. It’s not to heavy yet sturdy enough for young adults to get going on an SUP. Length wise, it’s roughly the size of our single SUP paddle with adjustability, see pic. We all love taking it on the boards for use when we are too lazy to stand up and paddle with the long stick paddle. Sitting down on the SUP boards and paddling with this is like flying through the water! I sure it has something to do with less air friction and the rate of passing but…. this isn’t science class, it just works well and is fun to alternate with.

This is a good paddle but the screw holes to attach the paddles to the pole were not perfectly straight and had to be forced in. Otherwise it is a good adjustable paddle perfect for kayaking.

At the end of the day this is plastic and aluminum so it's not going to compete with a really high quality paddle. But this is a good backup paddle. I got this mostly to try out using my paddle board as a kayak, so I wasn't looking for carbon fiber performance That being said, this is a very competent paddle. Nice channels on the blade, notches on the bottom of the blade so novices know if it's right side up, and it's comes with a leash as well. And it's not advertised as such but I think the blade might be reinforced with fiberglass. It has this pattern of white lines baked into the blade that makes me think it has some glass fibers mixed into the plastic. Maybe it's not, but even if it's not it's still kind of a cool look
