The KastKing Spartacus II plus is an outstanding reel at a great price point. I'm more impressed with the Spartacus II plus than I have been with other reels that cost much more. It looks great and feels very sturdy even though it's lightweight. It was easy to get dialed in to where I'm able to make long casts and not have any backlash. It is super smooth casting, reeling, and the drag is very consistent and reliable. It's easy to make adjustments to it when needed and it's been able to do anything I've wanted it to so far. My other Kast King reels have very reliable, and I'm sure the Spartacus II plus will be no different. I'm pretty hard on my fishing equipment, and any Kast King reel I've had has held up better than most other brands which cost a lot more. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and may look to swap some of my other bait casting set ups to a Spartacus II plus.

Good quality and looks good for the money however not quite as smooth as others in the price range. Very light weight which was perfect for an inexpensive light weight rod I paired it with. Would buy again for the price.

While I have not used the reel yet but out of the package it feels great with a smooth crank and big handles on the reel that have more grip than my Diawa Tatula-R 100xs. It is slightly smaller and lighter than the Diawa with the same gear ratio of 8:1 which I think will be great on a long day of casting. I like the handles better than what is on my Tatula-R. This reel is over half the price of my Tatula-R so a real value !!!!!!!

This has quickly become one of my favorite bait casters in my arsenal. Very easy to dial in, casts amazingly and the retrieve is incredibly smooth. The braking system was easy and responsive to adjustment allowing me to fish an entire day without any backlash whatsoever. For the price point you are hard pressed to find another baitcaster of this quality. Absolutely worth every penny! The reel is super light and very comfortable in the hand. I have this paired with a St. Croix Mojo Yak 7’2’’ rod and it feels like air, it’s awesome.
