It feels very sturdy and has a smooth retrieve. The finish is very nice and it looks really good. I have only used it once so far. I try to take care of my gear, but I think it will hold up well. I ordered this KastKing Royal Legend II Spinning Reel in the 3000 size. I mounted it on a 7ft medium rod, and it was a perfect combination. To try it out, I chose a Ned rig presentation, as it allowed for very slow retrieves, as well as fast retrieve after setting the hook and the fish tried to beat me to the boat. The line came off the spool very smoothly on each cast, and the reel was butter smooth, and seemed to get better as I used it. This reel has a great esthetic look to it with the red and black colors. The packaging is perfect. Reel and handle in their own bags for shipping. Also contained literature for maintenance, warranty, and a KastKing sticker to go along. I would recommend this reel to anyone looking for an average spinning reel. I have used many of the major brands for a couple of years, and this KastKing reel seems to measure up to the best of them.
