Kast King delivered again. i dont often give 5 stars but imo this reel deserves all 5. This is the perfect size real for the type of ensure saltwater fishing that I do 3000. 2000 and 2500 is seem a little bit small just in case you hook into something big but 3000 generally takes care of it if you handle it right, with drag set right. The retrieve ratio is 5.2:1 which is great and the pound test to yards capacity is 8 pounds at 370, 10 pounds at 300 but there’s no reason you couldn’t put 10, 15 or even 20 braid on it. Another nice feature is the drag has a nice and distinct and loud bell/chime as it’s pulling out. Which every fisherman knows is the greatest sound in the world is when your line is getting taken out by a big fish on the other end and you hear that bell clicking sound of the spool having line pulled back out. The bail wire is extra thick. The drag is good, anti-reverse switch and left and right hand usage. Additionally, on the spinning portion, as much metal as possible has been taken out to provide lightness of the reel, with with specific cut holes that you’ll see in the pictures - which lightens it even more. even the handle has a slight texture to allow easy grip and is one of the slightly larger knob on the end, for easy reel back. I’ll report back if anything changes once I get it on the water but with a light freshwater spray, I expect it to last many years and actually be one of my favorite reels. nice white and black paint job. It’s just so balanced when you roll it in. it just feels good. Kast King products seem to improve as time goes along. Even comes with stickers, but one of the most impressive additions is the owners manual which goes beyond the typical do this and that, but also has good general tips and tricks for all spinning reels, including cleaning, how to cast how, to properly load the spool with new line and more. And of course it comes with the parts list as well. Bravo Kast King bravo!

The KastKing Lethal Phantom Spinning Fishing Reels with Superpolymer Handle is a solid addition to my collection of fishing reels. I paired the size 2000 reel with one of KastKings 7' spinning rods (forget the exact model). It works great together as a combo and I now own two of the same combos if that says anything about my review! I was able to spool up about 200 yards of 20 lb braid. Casting is very smooth and the bail flips effortlessly. Reeling is clean and the drag has that satisfying sound when you get hooked on a fish. It also has a reverse setting so you can click that over and line can freely draw out while the reel spins backwards; flip it back and it stops letting it spin backwards. The reverse seems to be a lost feature on many newer reels so good to see it included here. The reel also feels very sturdy and has some weight to it which makes me have confidence in it's construction; no flimsy plastic. I also like the large cone/bell shaped handle which is nice when reeling over and over and over while fishing. Over all this is a great reel for the price and a solid choice for a budget spinning reel. As I said I now have two of these in my garage :)

I put the 5000 on a heavier setup for largemouth, the kind of rig I reach for when I'm throwing bigger baits and expecting a solid fish, and this reel has held up to everything I've asked of it. It's strong and it casts smooth, no jerky stutter when a good bass digs in, just steady pressure that lets me back one down and keep it pinned. On the 5000 there's real stopping power when you need it. The CNC aluminum spool lets line peel off clean, so I'm getting good distance without fighting loops or line slap. The retrieve is smooth top to bottom too. The 5+1 bearings crank without any grinding or roughness, even under load with a fish pulling against me. The build feels a cut above what I expected. It has a solid, planted feel in the hand instead of that hollow rattle you get from cheaper reels, and the handle knob keeps a grip even with wet hands, which matters when you're landing fish all afternoon. Nothing has loosened up or started binding on me. I've had zero issues with it so far. It's smooth, the drag is dependable, and it casts a mile. For a reel that fishes this well and feels this solid in the hand, it's been an easy one to trust on a good rod. Five stars, no reservations.

Well-Made and Smooth-Operating Reel The KastKing Lethal Phantom feels very well-made right out of the box. Once I mounted it on my rod and spun the handle, even without any line on the spool, the spool and bail rotated smoothly and without any noticeable resistance. The reel feels very well-balanced in the hand, and the handle has a nice, smooth operation. The bail operates exactly as it should, and the reverse switch is pretty common on spinning reels, but it’s always nice to have. I also like that it’s positioned in a very accessible location on the body of the reel. I’m very familiar with the KastKing brand, and I’ve used several of their products over the years. I’ve never been disappointed with their quality, and this reel appears to be another solid addition to their lineup. Based on the fit, finish, balance, and smooth operation I’ve experienced so far, I’m very happy with this order. I sure hope you found this helpful with a 👍

Nice reel overall, and I really like the products KastKing puts out, they've been reliable in my experience. This one performs well, the drag feels smooth through the retrieve and the 5.2:1 gear ratio gives a good balance of speed without feeling like you're cranking too fast or too slow for general use. My real issue is that it's clunky, it feels heavier and bulkier in hand than I'd expect for a reel at this price point, and at under $35, there are competitors putting out lighter reels for the same money or less. I understand this is a budget reel, so some trade offs make sense, but shaving off a little more material would go a long way. If KastKing trimmed the weight down to match what's already out there at this price, it would really set this reel apart instead of just being a solid, if slightly bulky, budget option.

The KastKing Lethal Phantom spinning reel in the 3000 size is a sharp looking reel with its white and black color scheme, and it performs just as well as it looks. It feels smooth on the retrieve and casts cleanly thanks to the 5+1 ball bearings. I spooled mine with 15lb braid and paired it with a 7 foot rod before heading out to the local pond. The setup handled everything I threw at it, from small ned rigs to swimbaits up to 1 ounce, without any trouble. On the water, the reel performed reliably. The Old Man got his hands on this KastKing Lethal Phantom Spinning Reel and immediately acted like he’d been chosen by the Fishing Gods. He unboxed it with the same reverence he uses for deer season gear, held it up to the light, and whispered, “Now THIS is a reel.” The super polymer handle was the first thing he bragged about. He kept squeezing it like a stress ball, announcing how “grippy” and “solid” it felt, as if he were reviewing it for a national fishing magazine. Then he attached it to his rod and started doing dramatic practice casts in the living room — nearly took out a lamp, but the reel performed beautifully. Smooth drag, clean action, no wobble, no grind, no complaints. He even said it “feels like butter,” which is high praise from a man who thinks most modern fishing gear is “over-engineered nonsense.” If you have an Old Guy who lives for fishing season, this reel will make him feel unstoppable. If you don’t have an Old Guy, this reel might summon one to your doorstep.

Adding this to my current setup, and while I haven't had the chance to fish with it yet, initial impressions are strong. I typically run Penn reels, and this feels like a genuinely comparable option at a more budget friendly price point. The retrieve is smooth and the drag feels good right out of the box, both signs of solid internal build quality rather than something that's going to disappoint once you put real pressure on it. I'll be using this for both fresh and saltwater applications, so I'll update this review once I've had it out on the water. Five stars based on early impressions. If you're looking for a capable reel without paying Penn prices, this is worth a serious look.
