I have purchased 4 in the last month. It's a great casting. I am very new to baitcasting and I have yet to backlash these. The magnetic drag is a blessing. I also have a piscifun torrent reel but prefer the Brutus.

I need a reel for my topwater walking baits and decided to give this a try since it's cheap (which is kinda scary) and I have 30 days to send it back. So far, I'm really impressed! It feels solid, it's quiet, handle & spool spin really well, and it's easy to get the side plate off. I was actually going to do a side by side with a Daiwa Tatula CT, but the plate doesn't come off w/o a screwdriver, and I don't feel like finding one, lol. The rest of my reels are in the boat and it's pouring outside right now so that's a no go. I really want to cast it but Amazon lost the package with my line in it so I'm waiting for it to come in. Either way, I'll update when I get it spooled because that's an important part and needs to be known. Update 12/10 While I don't have a video (lazy) and I haven't had a chance to go fishing (rain & life), I have made some casts in the yard. It casts really well and I can sling a 1/2" plug over 100ft! I know perform differently vs a lure with hooks, but still! I will say, it took a little bit longer to dial in, but only by a 1/2 dozen casts or so. I've already purchased another one for my 5yr old ;). It's cheap enough that I'm not worried about it getting dropped (hopefully not off the boat), or dinged up. Now if I could just purchase some patience from Amazon... ... show more

Dont tell anyone...but this reel is awesome! Already had their Sharky spinner, so decided to try this caster out. Velvet smooth, but super durable. Already ordered second one bc deal too great to pass up.
