  • This chair has changed my life. Excellent design. Comfortable and lightweight. It delivers as promised
Color: Silver Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Configuration: QUICK RELEASE AXLE
This chair delivers. It's everything that they advertise. I'm new to this wheelchair thing and the ego does take a huge hit but with this chair people see me and now some huge bulky heavy old fashion chair. I call this my sport chair I'm less self conscious with going out in it for some reason. My issue I guess but the chair has helped me get out of the house more due to the sport style of it. Since I'm in Canada I can only find in stores these huge and heavy old fashioned chairs. I was thrilled Amazon would ship this slick lightweight chair to me. It is perfect. My nurse can lift it to put in the car for trip to doctor or hospital as it comes apart at the legs and the top folds down. Even the wheels can be removed with the push of a button. We've done it for travel. My injuries stem from my " bottom" so the sling chair ,.. their proprietary design is truly pleasure to sit in even for hours. We use it not only road trips but flying as well. I have a wheelchair protector or luggage bag so I wheel right down to the plane at the bottom of the jetway and then my hubby packs it in the "wheelchair protecting suitcase" as I worry about how they throw things around. It's so light and compact a few times the air stewarts let us take it onboard and they stored it with the captains stuff! ( this is when we took legs and wheels off) We've used it in pavement , sidewalks, cruiseships, gravel roads, icy parking lots but mostly in my home. It's easy to maneuver if your house is not adapted for wheelchair and I , a former control freak can wheel myself around quite a bit due to the light frame. It turns on a dime. The only down side is getting parts. I'd like new foot plates but can seem to locate. Also the picture shows black straps for the legs I did not get those. Shipping was fast. I recoimend going to you tube and see all th videos from the manufacturer. They are kinda cheesy but you'll see how great this chair is at less than 20 lbs. love it ... show more

  • A great compromise for my needs.
Color: Silver Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Configuration: QUICK RELEASE AXLE
I bought this because I can walk but a walker helps. Most wheelchairs and lots of transport chairs don’t have handbrakes, which makes them risky to push. I can’t get up from ordinary chairs, so I put a 5” thick cushion on this, and use it for long sitting, where my 24”-seat rollator is just not comfortable enough. The handbrakes don’t lock like they do on rollators, and it’s a little skittish because it’s so light. But I can lift it into the trunk myself without removing the back wheels, it folds very easily, even the backrest; it’s comfortable even with the big pillow, and the wheel locks are excellent. Most transport chairs don’t have big wheels that allowed self-propulsion, most are heavier, and most don’t have handbrakes, let alone quick-remove wheels and footrests. So this was worth the cost, about half what my good “super light” wheelchair cost me. I cannot lift that one into the car myself. If the handbrakes locked like they do on rollators, I’d give it 5 stars. ... show more

  • Should have done this sooner..
Color: Silver Size: 18x17 Inch (Pack of 1) Configuration: FIXED AXLE
I am a caregiver rather than a patient; this chair has very likely saved my back. The chair that insurance provided was a whopping 42 lbs; I am 60, transporting my post-stroke husband as we try to keep a reasonably active schedule. He's gaining strength, but balance and vision issues make a chair a must. I was managing my discomfort, but knew as it got worse that a change was necessary. I should have purchased this months ago. A huge plus is that the back that folds down, making it a breeze to fit into my small SUV, either in the back seat which the Drive chair couldn't do, or the far back. Another plus is the ergonomic curved seat is comfortable without an extra cushion. When running errands with multple stops, not having to deal with a cushion is nice. The heavier chair's seat was like a plank, making a cushion necessary. The footrests are very simple on-and-off. I don't use them except for longer distances, as hubby's therapist said it was good exercise to hold his feet up for short distances. The other chair had me wrestling and struggling with the footrests, which often would swing around and clip me in the ankles while I was lifting or seating hubby, then stubbornly refuse to come off despite my twisting, lifting and swearing, all while bent double. The handles have brakes. Genius. Roll a 190 lb. guy down an incline and you'll understand. I waited too long to do this, concerned about the cost. I even searched for a used one, but no sane person would get rid of one. It was only a matter of time before the twisting, awkward lift getting the heavier chair in and out was going to do permanent damage, and I couldn't have this happen. He needs to be transported to therapies, appointments and to do things that make life fun and normal. This chair was likely designed with the user in mind, but it's certainly made this caregiver's life better, although hubby misses laughing at me over those $&@+ footrests! ... show more

  • Small, but mighty!
Color: Silver Size: 18x17 Inch (Pack of 1) Configuration: FIXED AXLE
I broke my ankle and had surgery, so I am non-weight bearing for 2 months and partial weight-bearing for another month. I saw this wheelchair in a medical supply store for $1000! When I found it on Amazon for way less, I ordered it and it was at my home in 2 days. This wheelchair turns on a dime, and I love not having to depend on another person to get me around as it is very easy to navigate. The quality of this chair is top-notch, the hinges, wheels...everything is so SMOOTH. Anyone that has had to transport me into a car has exclaimed how extremely light (19.8 lbs!) and compact it folds up, and traveling with it on an airplane has been so easy. You do have to gate check it in, but I have velcro straps to keep the chair folded and easy for the handlers. (I have 3 trips via plane and boat travel during this recovery time). It is just the right height for pulling up to a table at a restaurant for dining, or a desk to work. Although it is a bit pricey, it is so worth it. The brakes hold the tires securely so I feel safe transporting myself in and out of the chair. After I am done with this chair, my 89-year-old mom has dibs on it! To make it perfect, if there was an accessory piece I could attach to elevate my leg, that would be amazing. ... show more
