  • Kanto sub8 packs a punch

  • It works, but has horrible RCA cable
Color: Matte Black
It does work to add more bass to music and movies and it has plenty of volume and crossover adjustment. It's not shattering, but it's there, like more force coming. You'll notice by switching the sub on and off and listening to the sound. Is it worth it? Time will tell but I do notice the difference. The sub itself is good quality. But it has an amazingly cheap RCA cable. Shockingly bad, you'll get it when you see it. I've never seen a cable this bad with any audio product at this price. I'm keeping the sub for now but I'm a bit pissed at having to buy a decent cable for 10-20 dollars more. It should be included. ... show more

  • Powerful enough to shake objects around you!
In my opinion, $250 just for only the subwoofer is rather expensive; however, this Kanto Sub8 does truly deliver massive amount of bass! In fact, this is more than I really need in a bedroom. It is so strong and deep that small objects around the room is starting to shake and move itself. Maybe I can save a bit of money going for their Kanto Sub6 instead. Perhaps I will rotate this out to the living room one day. I give it a 4.5 stars and will recommend this if you enjoy your music and movie with a lot of bass! Careful with your ear drum though. ... show more

  • Great Sub...there is better but not for the price.
Color: Matte Black
I tried this, a Dayton 800, and a Jamo 810.... honestly this was the best of the bunch. The output is good for our living room. It is a really good looking sub too. The Sub8 was the best of the bunch for those looking at cheap subs. The sound is tight and really pairs well with the Kanto YU4 speakers. My only grip is the rolloff on the crossover NEEDS to be more aggressive, but I will live with it. ... show more

  • Great little sub
Color: Gloss Black
Tried out the Kanto SUB6 and a Dayton SUB-800 before finalizing on this. As others have said, the SUB6 is a bit underwhelming, but the SUB8 is a bit more solid and sounds quite a bit better. The SUB-800 was just a bit too big and the SUB8 is just right. It still suffers from a 6dB / octave low pass crossover so plan on using some form of equalizer to get the most out of it. It is worth the upgrade over the SUB6. Improvement wise, a higher order crossover would be nice and the ability to remove the grill easily. ... show more

  • Great sub, but beware of the low quality RCA cable that is included
I'm using these paired with Klipsch The Fives, and I'm really happy with the combo. The sound quality of the sub is punchy and responsive, but possibly a little lacking in the upper bass and definitely a little on the low end. I still think it sounds better than a ported subwoofer and really makes my Fives shine. One big problem is that the supplied RCA cable is awful and causes a constant hum. I had an old Monster RCA cable laying around which once I switched to that, it fixed the issue. I seriously can't believe that they ship with such a low-quality cable that causes an issue with the product. ... show more
