Seems to be a good compressor, especially for the $65 price as mine was bought as a return. It is supposedly a copy of a Sanden compressor, or it is at least Sanden "style." Mine was made in Mexico. The sticker on the compressor said it was filled with 6.4 oz of PAG46 oil and the generic instructions that came with it said to drain the oil from the new compressor. Not sure why. Also not sure why they'd tell you what kind of oil is in it if they just want you to remove and discard it. Anyway, it bolted in perfectly as a replacement for the GM HT6 compressor that came with my 96 Chevy S10, 4.3L. The truck is new to me, but the one I took off was a leaking rebuilt unit. From what I've read, that HT6 design is one of GM's worst AC compressor designs and leaks after many flexing cycles. This UAC compressor has a different design, and I'm hoping a better one. It certainly is quieter than the old one. This compressor comes with a plug in the center back of the compressor for a high pressure cut off switch. You need a pair of snap ring pliers to remove the old one from your old compressor and to remove the plug from the new compressor. On my S10, the compressor sits on the top of the engine and is simple to get out with 4 bolts. My compressor came with two new seals for the high and low side lines and four spacer/washers. I suppose in some applications, additional height is needed. Anyway, I'm happy with it. I'm happy its not the old design which would probably begin leaking at some point. And its pretty quiet.     • Good compressor for the price
Compressor was installed in one afternoon. A few things I did notice: 1. This unit looks a little different than the original GM unit. It bolted into my truck with no problems. 2. If your vehicle has the high pressure cut out switch on the back of the compressor, you may need to get a new one or transfer the one off your old compressor. This unit does not come with the switch, just a plug installed where it goes. It is installed with a snap ring. I ended up getting a new one because my old one was seized up in the compressor. It costs about $18. 3. The compressor comes pre-filled with PAG-46. As far as I know, GM HVAC systems mostly use PAG-150. Since I flushed out my truck's system I decided to keep the PAG-46. I topped up the system to the proper fill. It is working with no issues so far. This compressor was a good deal, especially since I was on a budget. My a/c is blowing cold again! ... show more

Pay attention on some existing compressors they have a sensor on the back side that you will need to use on the new one, it is removable with a “twist and pull” action. Does exactly what you want! Blows cold air immediately! Great price and fit perfectly!!

In August 2019, put this in a 97 Chevy Tahoe 5.7 vortec. Almost a year later it's still blowing cold. no issues.
