I bought this for the flexibility it offers by having wheels and adjustable height. We have the larger version of this Kanto cart at work so, I knew it was going to be a high quality TV cart. It is nice to be able to adjust the height of the TV with about a dozen options. It is not really set up to adjust the height often or on the fly, however, since the button plungers have to both be pressed while supporting the weight of the TV unless you unmount the TV first. The larger version has bolts that lock the height in addition to the plungers. This MTM65PL version does not have the extra bolts locking the height. I have an old, heavy, 42-inch tv mounted at the lowest height right now and I have no fear with my small children around it. It rolls fine on the thick carpet but, it might be a little more tricky at its highest setting. Assembly is really simple but, you will need a wrench or rachet to attach the TV mount to the uprights.

KANTO MTM65PL - This was a fantastic solution to de-clutter a previous corner style entertainment center that was difficult to move and clean behind. After a recent remodel to our home I hated the idea of putting the old entertainment center back in place, and I just couldn't bring myself to drill holes in recently patched and painted drywall to hang a wall mount or ceiling mount. This Kanto stand truly was the perfect solution for us. The stand itself arrived in great condition. Assembly instructions aren't the most detailed, but all of the part bags were adequately and properly identified, and the larger parts are pretty much self explanatory. Simply following the vague assembly instructions in the guide and having previously watched an assembly video on youtube, the stand went together without any drama. There are a couple steps during the assembly where it was helpful to have another set of hands. We hung a LG 60PA6500 60-Inch plasma TV on the stand. I was a little worried when I ordered the stand because our TV weighs in at 88 to 90lbs according to published specs. (we've never actually weighed the TV), but the Kanto stand holds it like a heavy weight champ. I'm glad that I didn't have to spring for the bigger brother version of this stand. I'm extremely happy with our purchase and would do it all over again without hesitation. The stand is heavy duty, well engineered and constructed and holds our heavy weight plasma TV perfectly. It is also pretty stylish in an industrial contemporary kind of way. I highly recommend this stand and kudos to Amazon Prime for having it on my doorstep in 2 days.

Bang for the buck, this seems to be a great choice. Personally, I think the styling is better than anything I have seen under $2k. It is sculptural and clean while also being sturdy. With that said, there are some aspects of the design that I'm not thrilled about. First, the picture that is shown for this model must have been taken with the largest possible TV attached to it, because my 42" looks much smaller...or to put it another way, the stand looks much larger. I would argue that it's bigger than it needs to be. The front of the base is just about the same width as the TV. I think it would almost look silly with a 37" monitor on it. Although it certainly would be stout-looking! The finish looks like powder coat. It's not smooth. I kind of like it, but I would say that it does not look like a fine finish. It's more of an industrial look. The styling is sculptural enough that it might otherwise be at home even in an elegant setting, but the finish kind of kills it. I don't know...personal preference I suppose. The packaging seems thoughtful, but that didn't save the finish from getting marred in transit. The box and the styorofoam packing material inside was partially crushed, which allowed the pieces to rub together, hence the damage. I was tempted to send it back, but it's a small spot, mostly hidden by the TV, so I didn't. The height is very difficult to adjust once the TV has been mounted, even with two people. It's quite easy to adjust before mounting the bracket to the two verticals, so it certainly can be adjusted, but it seems like more of a one-time adjustment. There is a small amount of slop in the telescoping verticals, so for example, if one hold the base, one can twist the top horizontal part of the mount to some extent. It wouldn't do this if it had bolts in it, but that's not the design characteristic. It is as if they wanted it to be adjustable (or appear to be adjustable) while the TV is installed, even though it's not really practical to do so. So in my mind, it would have been better to just lock it down and call it permanent. But in fairness, this is not going to be a problem for me in actual use. The mount is still quite sturdy, even if it could have been even more so. Once I saw it all put together, my first impression was that the base was higher off of the ground than I would have preferred. And yet, the casters seem smaller than I would have preferred. They are nice-quality casters, but just seem small compared to the mount. They have a threaded-stud mount, so I'm sure it would be easy enough to find replacements, but then that would make the base seem even taller...unless one could find casters with both bigger wheels and a lower profile. I'm not even sure that's possible. And again, it's not really a big issue anyway. I'm just saying, I think it would look better if the base was lower slung. And the casters would work better it they had bigger wheels. Perhaps mutually exclusive, but just sharing my thoughts here. Speaking of the wheels, I noticed that it is somewhat challenging to move on carpet, first because the wheels don't just roll without any resistance on carpet, but more than that, because there is nothing handy to grab onto other than the TV. And I don't think it's a good idea to put that much torque on the TV. This would be less of a problem on a hard floor because the smallish wheels roll effortlessly, but it still might be kind of unhandy to have nothing to grab. Kanto could solve this problem by including telescoping handles on the horizontal mounting bar so that one could basically just reach around the edge of the TV and grab the handle instead of the TV's bezel. In my case, I will be mounting some electronics on the back of the TV, so I'll just attach an aluminum plate to expand the surface area of the horizontal piece, and that same plate can double as a place to grab. The shelf is plastic. I knew it was plastic before I bought it, so no surprise, but I just wish it was metal. The camera mount is metal, so why not the shelf? Mine is in a home office setting, so I'd like it better if it was a bit more elegant. I am thinking about replacing it with a piece of nicely-finished hardwood. The bracket design will make that idea somewhat difficult though. The shelf mounting system also a bit of a disappointment in that it just clamps onto to the verticals, meaning that if one thought it would be handy to be able to adjust the height of the TV on the fly, this is yet another reason why that wouldn't work very well. But then, if they never intended to for the height to be adjusted after the fact, then it's not really a problem. Just seems slightly misleading. Much of which is a direct result of the fact that there is very little written information about this product. There is an assembly video, but the rest of the manufacturer's website looks like it was designed for very casual viewing on a tablet. None of the images can be enlarged. There is essentially no written information in the manual - just pictures. I found it easy enough to assemble, but nothing that I could find online was very informative. I would have paid money to see a dimensional drawing before buying it, but finally just had to take a chance. The minimum installed TV height is a little taller than I was hoping for, but more on that later. The wire management system looks pretty handy in the video, but it's worth noticing that it won't work with the verticals set in their lowest position because the holes are telescoped inside of the larger verticals. The thing is rather tall. Probably intended to accompany a standing presenter in a conference room. But I will be using mine while seated, and I would like the center of the screen to be near eye level, which means that even the lowest setting is a little higher than I would prefer. I can make it lower buy attaching the mounting rails up higher on the TV's VESA mounting holes, but then the brackets will be taller than the TV, meaning that I would have to cut them off. I can certainly do that, but at that point, I will be moving out of the realm of what many people would be willing to do. All I'm saying is, just be aware of the height. If you want it tall, then nothing in the paragraph will bother you. If you want it as short as I do, it can certainly be accomplished, but some modifications will be required. The base has some large oval holes, fitted with white plastic grommets. I have no idea what Kanto thought would be passing through those holes, but the cable management system ends in the back of the verticals, and above the base, so no wires will need to exit from the base. I have no idea, so I took mine out. I think it looks a lot better without them and I can't see any down side. Just seems odd, that's all. As a side note, I had planned to use an Atlantic 63607104 Universal Adjustable Sound bar mount, but it didn't work will with the Kanto stand because the back of the TV is actually rather close to the vertical supports. The way the Atlantic mount is made, it hits the verticals long before the speaker is far enough back to be flush with the TV in the front. My TV has a 200mm mounting pattern, so as it turns out, that is just slightly wider than the center-lines of Kanto's vertical supports, so the adjustable brackets on the Atlantic mount hit the verticals. It just didn't work out for me, although I'm sure it would be fine with a TV that has a wider mounting pattern. I knocked off one star for the lack of pre-sale information, the base height, smallish wheels, plastic shelf and finish quality. But with all of that said, I do rather like it anyway, and after searching extensively, both locally and on the internet, I still think this is the best sanely-priced option available.
