    • Tiny Budget PCs are great again!
Size: Core i5-14450HX /16GB+512GB Silvery
Review Image by Jacob W.
At first I was skeptical. I've had low-budget hardware before and had always found the experience inadequate. But I've been nothing but impressed with this cute, tiny little box and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a budget-friendly general-purpose computer. It's no good for 'modern' gaming (which if that's what you're looking for, you wouldn't be looking at these kinds of computers anyway), but for everything else typically done at home it's perfectly fine. Boot time: So fast my monitor actually takes longer to turn on than it takes for the computer to be ready to log in. Gaming performance: About what I expected. Console-grade Unreal Engine titles from as far back as 2015 generally run unacceptably badly, requiring reduction to minimum detail levels at low resolution to reach even a minimum standard of playable. But as a *kids* gaming device? Sure. Minecraft requires a bit of tweaking to get it to run well ('Fancy' graphics, reduce resolution to 900p, 3x3 textures and 8 chunk render/simulate distance) but it is workable and looks fine. Even the most demanding Roblox experiences are reasonably playable at medium detail levels (automatic is fine). Mobile-class games like various Tower Defense games, including ones with low-detail 3D graphics, run perfectly well. Load times are really quick except in Minecraft. Web browsing: Everything is fast and responsive enough that your internet connection is likely to be the sole frustrating thing about it (oh and btw the WiFi chip/antenna is of pretty decent quality so it's your ISP that will be the pain, not the box itself). Even the text editors with built-in grammar checking will be 100% responsive -- a surprise given that this was a significant pain point in the last low-budget computer I got (I had to disable grammar checking in order to keep it responsive on previous devices -- but not on this one). Endless scrolling and loading of images on social media are as fast as your internet connection will allow, which for me meant scrolling Facebook literally as fast as my mouse wheel could go and not experiencing any noticeable hitches. (Note: I have a Pi Hole on my network that eats up ads, and ads are always a pain point in internet loading). For good measure I loaded up YouTube videos in 4 different windows and forced them to 1080p/60 quality mode. All four windows were rendering the video at full resolution and full frame rate with no visible hitching. Stream decoding is fast enough for any kind of video streaming a reasonable person would be doing. I only did a cursory check of Office productivity capability. For this I found some decently large documents and loaded them with LibreOffice. I didn't notice any hitching as I scrolled through the documents, edited them and even tossed in some typical use-case spreadsheet calculations. While I can't say if it'll be ideal for, say, an accountant or author or artist who will want to use absurdly large sheets with complex calculations or thousand-page drafts with dozens of revisions that the document tracks, or massive Photoshop jobs, I *can* say that if your use case is such that you're even considering a low-end PC, this one will suit your needs well enough. Color me impressed. 10 years ago I bought a 'mid-range' CPU that all by itself cost more than this box, not counting everything else I had to buy for the PC that CPU went into. This box, for less than the price of that CPU, substantially outperforms it, and does so while being dead silent and consuming no more power than an LED lightbulb. I'm sold. ... show more

Been using this mini PC with the AMD Ryzen R2544 for a while now, and honestly it works better than I expected. I mainly use it for work, watching videos, and some light gaming, and everything runs pretty smooth with no obvious lag. It stays quiet and doesn’t get too hot even after running for hours, which I like. The size is also a big plus since it doesn’t take up much space on my desk. Ports are enough for my daily use, and setup was easy. Overall it’s just a solid little PC that gets the job done without any hassle. ... show more

    • A nice mini computer
Size: AMD Ryzen Embedded R2544/8GB+256GB
I recently purchased the E1 Mini PC with the Intel N150 processor and overall it's a solid little machine that does the basics. Pros: 1. Compact and portable: Its size is perfect for my small workspace, and it's easy to move around when necessary. 2. Energy efficient: The Intel N150 is surprisingly energy efficient and the mini PC stays cool even after long hours of use. 3. Moderate performance for basic tasks: It handled everyday tasks like web browsing, streaming media, and light office work smoothly. I even used it for simple photo editing and it performed quite well. 4. Quiet: The fan is almost inaudible, which is a big plus for me since I work in a very quiet environment. 5. Affordable: For the price, this is a great value if you're looking for a no-frills mini PC. Cons: 1. Limited performance for heavy tasks: The Intel N100 is not powerful, so don't expect it to run demanding software or perform heavy multitasking. It will struggle with intensive applications. 2. Storage and memory limitations: The base model has limited storage and memory, so I had to upgrade the storage to make it more responsive to my needs. ... show more

Solid. Works perfectly when formatted and Ubuntu installed. I use it as an isolated claude code box.

    • Great extra computer to have on hand.
This little compact KAMRUI mini PC is great as an auxiliary computer. It is fast enough for browsing and basic functions but it's a little slow so I would not expect it to work for any type of gaming other than something very simple. It's made well and has not overheated so far. One thing I don't like is with the limited ports, you have to use a 3.5mm connection for audio. It's a decent value if you're not into Chromebooks and want a Windows based computer or one you can install your Linux or similar systems on. This one hangs out in my kitchen desk and I keep it on most of the time so that I can hop on for info on recipes, cooking or just to catch up on the latest while waiting for something in over. Not as portable as a tablet but can be moved within reason. Would recommend if it's not your main computer. ... show more

    • Exceeds my expectations for the price.
Size: AMD Ryzen Embedded R2544/16GB+512GB Silvery
For the price, its perfect. Using it for some home-based server hosting and media center. Wifi was a little slow out of the box but once the updates completed it was much better. Has a second open m2 drive slot for expanding storage, so thats great. I had a question and customer service was quick to reply and very helpful. ... show more

    • Excellent value as a simple web browsing pc.
This PC is more than powerful enough for web browsing and simple office tasks. It sips power so it stays on all day.

    • Very Disappointing
This loaded up quickly using an EERO mesh network. I had it connected to my printer, my speaker, and my portable hard drive. It worked perfectly for the internet. I turned it off for three weeks and when I turned it on again, it counted for about two minutes, showing progress in completing an unspecified task. Then it showed a scenic photograph. Then it said it needed a new password, but it gave me no chance to provide one. The screen went blank and now I can't get anything to show at all. It is just dead. I do not need this. ... show more
