I got this little pc to act as a remote server for my home camera system dvr. The dvr lives up in the room over the garage and we need a screen down in the family room where we spend most of our time. This is the third pc I have been using since about 2020. Previously I used an old HP laptop that had maybe 32g of storage on it and was always running out of space with Win10 on it. I then moved it to an old Dell running Win7 which had plenty more ram but was still not satisfactory. It was also very slow with laggy images and would lock up quite a bit or reconnect. Fast forward to today. I got the little pc yesterday and set about early this morning to configure it. Setup was easy enough. This is my first go around with Win11 but it wasnt that bad. As a matter of fact it didnt seem so intrusive as setting up Win10 and it didnt keep trying me to use a microsoft account and phone in to the mothership every time I started or rebooted it. Once I got it up and running I put a different browser on it then Edge. Also turned off some of the crap they default in startup. After a bit of time I was able to load the app and had to override the security to let it run. Once it was configured I moved it to the family room to act as the display server. If there are any downsides to this little box, it is not the fastest pc on the block. While I was configuring it I had it plugged into an ethernet connection so the network should have been super fast. The browser seemed a bit slow to load but I cant say I spent that much time surfing around, just long enough to get my email on it to download the link to the security app. Overall I'm pretty pleased with it. It has a mount that lets you attach it to a VESA mount in the back. The monitor I am using is so old, it doesnt have that and has a VGA connection. Lucky for me this box does have a VGA output in addition to two HDMI ports. It comes with 128gb of ram, that should be enough to run the security app. I'll give it 5 stars for being a fairly straightforward and easy little box to setup and use.

The Kamrui Mini PC is a very compact and lightweight unit. It comes with everything pre-installed and ready to run. You just need a screen, keyboard, and mouse. There is both a VGA and HDMI port for the visual monitor, and 3 USB ports for other accessories. It boots on quickly, with a tiny fan running. With the lightweight plastic shell and minimal components, you'd think this would be basically a glorified Raspberry Pi but it's a fully functional PC that works as smoothly as most PCs or laptops. It's pretty much a Chromebook with a Celeron unit but surprisingly powerful. It comes pre-installed with Windows 11, which gives it an easy user experience for people familiar with Windows. It can impressively run two 4k videos at once on Chrome without lag, utilizing only 7.4 Gb of memory while base performance is 4.8 Gb. While it can stream videos smoothly and use 5Ghz Wifi, high CPU usage tasks will still strain it. It can run Chrome with quite a few tabs and various basic programs but don't expect it to handle high intensity tasks that require significant graphic processing such as video games. Running two 4 k videos for a couple minutes already had the unit slightly warm to the touch, and the tiny 5V fan probably doesn't have enough cooling power for much more. Overall, it's an impressive little unit if you want to have a highly portable unit for specialty situations such as making a TV display for a cafe. It works impressively well with just a screen and keyboard especially if it has a built in mouse controller. It's not a replacement for a laptop or desktop if you need it for intensive purposes though. n

Disclaimer: I received this product for no charge through the Vine program, but I must pay income tax on the retail value of the item. This review is of the GK3PRO with Celeron N5105 processor, 12GB RAM, and 256 GB SSD. This Kamrui GK3Pro is one of many mini pc's currently available. Although it is nowhere near the forefront of current CPU or GPU ability, the Celeron N5105 processor is quite capable of handling ordinary tasks. It was snappy opening multiple windows and web pages. It streamed HD video capably, and I was able to edit high-res photos with Paintshop Pro quite acceptably. The 12GB of DDR4 2400 RAM was plenty to simultaneously have multiple browser windows, a YouTube video, and a photo editing program running without delay. The GK3PRO also supports up to three monitors (two HDMI and one VGA) if you really want to multi-task. Like other mini pc's, the GK3PRO can be mounted out of sight behind a monitor with VESA mounts to keep your desk space uncluttered. The GK3PRO's Celeron N5105 4 core, 4 thread CPU achieved Cinebench R23 scores of 603 (single-core) and 1840 (multi-core) which are about equal to a full power AMD A10-9700 released in 2017 or an Intel I5-6300U from 2015. The integrated GPU is a Gen11 UHD Graphics processor. I got Furmark scores of 547 (720p) and 333 (1080p) which is about equal to an old Nvidia 9600GT from 2008 and nowhere near competitive with current discrete graphics cards or an AMD based iGPU. However, you can play older games if you keep the resolution to 720p. Compared to a Celeron N5095, which are also widely installed in mini pc's, the N5105 has about 50% more graphics power and about the same CPU power. The no-name 256 GB Kimtigo SSD has average read speeds (518-559 MB/s) but slower than average write speeds (284 MB/s) for a SATA using CrystalDiskMark to benchmark it. The GK3PRO has limited upgrade capabilities. The CPU and Samsung DDR4-2400 RAM are soldered to the motherboard and are not upgradeable. There is a space to install a 2.5-inch SATA SSD or HD inside the case. If you disassemble the case, the 256GB M.2 2280 Kimtigo SSD can be accessed and replaced with a larger SSD if desired. The Kimtigo SSD is a SATA device. I was unable to determine if the M.2 slot supports NVMe SSDs, but I would guess not, as other mini pc's based on this architecture do not. Kamrui includes a fully activated installation of Windows 11 Pro OEM. What Kamrui doesn't include, however, is much documentation other than three short pages of generic setup information. There is no information about the specs of the system, whether the M.2 port supports NVMe drives, how to restore the system if a catastrophic crash occurs, nor any warranty information. The unit I received had one flaw. The blue LED power indicator must have had a poor connection as it flickered, went out, or came back on unpredictably while the PC was in operation. That did not otherwise affect the operation of the PC. Unless you need a powerful CPU and GPU for computation intensive processing or to play the latest 3D games, this tiny desktop PC can handle most household or business computing tasks in an almost invisible package.

I headlined this review "Linux loads fine," but with a caveat: neither Debian or Ubuntu detected the onboard wifi card. No prob. I have a USB wifi dongle that plays well with Linux and used that to test the installs. One of the first things I did was pull the included 128gb NVMe (which is preloaded with Windows) and replaced it with another NVMe stick I had on hand. Then I installed an SSD in the 2.5-inch SATA drive bay. Getting to the SSD bay is easy. You just remove a single Phillips screw and slide a lock switch to the side and the top lifts off the box. Getting to the NVMe socket (which I'd guess most people are probably unlikely to need to do) is another matter. It requires loosening the main board by removing four screws that are accessed by pulling off the rubber bottom corner pads. A magnetic screwdriver comes in really handy, especially during reassembly. The system didn't detect the replacement NVMe stick I installed. Maybe a compatibility issue, or the original stick is proprietary in the BIOS or something, not a machine flaw. It did detect the SATA connected SSD, so I went ahead. The BIOS had no prob booting from a USB stick. Installation of both Debian and Ubuntu went without a hitch, except for the wifi card issue I mentioned. That's not unusual when installing Linux in machines with recent-generation wifi cards. Sometimes the drivers just aren't available. The bottom line for me is this mini PC is capable, runs smoothly, graphics look good (but don't expect to run this as a gaming machine), and it is pretty quiet. And Linux will load on it. It would make an excellent Linux-based file server or media server with a hard-wired Ethernet connection. If you just go with the Windows OS and NVMe stick it comes with, it all works right out of the box, and you can add a SATA 2.5 inch SSD for more storage.

Note: When first updating this device in Windows 11, your display will blink in and out for some of the updates (5 seconds of darkness). The display drivers need to be updated in this device, and this occurs as the disconnection and reconnection occurs. The computer is not broken, it just needs to reset the connection. This small NUC has a modest processor that can deal with light computing tasks. It is optimally used as a video box or an emulation machine. The SSD is fast enough for document processing and there is sufficient RAM to run normal operations in Windows 11 without stuttering. The "front" of the machine has a light, and all connections are to the "left" for the normal USB ones. Oddly, there is one USB 2.0 on the "left" and one behind the box which lends itself to be placed to the right of the user. There are VESA screws for mounting, and it attaches easily to a VESA-capable monitor. Power access is also on the "left". Operations on the NUC work well as expected. Upgrading parts within the NUC is straightforward and opening and closing the NUC securely is easy. The BIOS is American Megatrends, which does have security functions for opening and closing if desired. I would recommend this NUC if you want a modest box that is easily upgradable. The VESA mount is a plus, and the NUC works really well under lower power needs.

Well this little Windows 11 Pro PC would be great for someone who just needed to surf the internet, work in Microsoft Office, and maybe watch a few videos. This little pc is quiet and small, but for a daily use, basic task computer, it is still pretty good. It has WiFi and Bluetooth which give you more connectivity options for networking and wireless accessories. Hooks easily to a monitor or TV, but you’ll have to bring your own mouse and keyboard. I tested this on a 4K TV and was able to play YouTube in 4k but could not enable HDR for some reason; said it wasn’t supported. My Windows 10 PC does HDR on this same screen. I did decide to see how it would play something like Minecraft, and even with settings turned down it was still a little sluggish. We’re going to try some other things as well, but as of now it would probably be good for emulation of older console games or older PC games. I work in IT. Since this PC didn’t have a lot of information, as a precaution I did scan the system with a third party Malware tool and installed a full security suite with Vulnerability scanner, Antivirus/Antimalware, ransomware protection, firewall, etc. nothing out of the ordinary was detected. I do recommend using a product like that to help you detect anything out of the ordinary. Uses an AMI (formerly American Megatrends) bios and Intel graphics.

I am so impressed with this mini PC that we got rid of the big lug of a refurbished one we had. This one is brand new and so much faster. I wish it had two more USB ports but I am so happy with this. It was so easy to set up I did it with the help of my son. He can play is games on it and do his school work. I do not keep my photos on it to preserve memory but I can edit with it. I am just impressed. I can take this cute little guy anywhere. I'd recommend it.

The Kamrui is a compact, mini PC that can deliver a good amount of utility. This certainly is not a gaming computer (not any recent, demanding game) but can easily be used for most any other function. You can surf the web easily enough, work in Office365/Google Docs, etc.. Where this shines is its very small footprint. It takes almost no desk space. Heck, you can mount it on the back of a monitor so it's completely out of the way. With an M.2 SSD drive, it is almost completely silent. Connectors are on 3 sides. It has 4 USB Type-A, 2 HDMI, 1 RJ-45 ethernet, 1 headset/mic, and 1 VGA. That's capable of supporting a USB keyboard & mouse, 2 monitors, 1 set of speakers, and a USB webcam. Perfect for a high school or college student (and with the cost of tuition+books, you'll need to get creative with your spending.) If you remove the screw on the back and slide the button, the lid will pop-up. Pull it off and there's a nook for a 2.5" SATA drive, so expanding the storage is a snap. I removed one star because this device's fatal flaw is its cooling. It has poor airflow. When I was setting this up for the first time and installing all the available updates, this got HOT. I can see situations where this could overheat, leading to a system crash.
