I bought this mini PC to use as a home server. I initially planned on using it for Jellyfin, however the performance of the Ryzen CPU in this machine felt wasted on such a task. Instead, I ended up using it as a Proxmox server for a variety of virtual machines. I ended up running a Minecraft server and a Garry's Mod server simultaneously on two different virtual machines, and the mini PC was able to keep up without missing a beat. The heat output from this little guy isn't too bad either. It's comparable to a laptop with a similar class CPU. There appears to be adequate cooling from the factory, although a modest undervolt might still yield some benefit. Overall, this is an outstanding mini PC for those looking for a cheap addition to their homelab. The low power consumption from this particular unit also sets it apart from other similar equipment in the same performance category, as it allows the system to run cool and quiet when not under a sustained load. Very impressive for the budget buyer!

Honestly, I was in two minds about this. I've bought cheap computers before and they haven't been very good. Did they work sure, but they were slow and laggy. I bought this to replace an Intel NUC 6th gen i5 with 512 SSD and 32Gb ram. This machine wasn't capabable of running Win11 not TPM2 chip. Bearly ran Win10. Googles FlexOS was an intresting experiment. Ubuntu wasn't much better, but gave access to a full OS. This little box isn't perfect. It comes with Win11, 16Gb of DDR4, 512Gb m.2 and a Ryven 7 5800U which is by no means top tear, but its also by not mean bottome of the barrel either. The copy of Win11 it came with had the power settings set to never sleep and it kept the screen on 24/7. It was also runnin 22H2 which isn't support any longer. But after about 12 hrs I was being prompted to install 24H2 and the power settings are a simple fix. After a very simple run though of the Windows 11 setup and messing around with some Steam games etc which ran not just better, but the comparision is night and day in comprarison to the Intel NUC. I took the memory out of the NUC and dropped it into this new machine. The mem speed dropped from 3200 to 2144, but I doubled the memory, so it's a trade off. Was it worth it. Absolutly, I'm running multiple copies of VSCode and have seveal local websites running that I'm working on and I'm using 14gb of the 32 installed. In a nutshell, this is one very capable machine and I would love to see how this compaires to one of other boxes. For a comparision of my usually day-to-day: AMD Ryzen 9 9900X 128Gb DDR5 Samsung 990 Pro m.2 AMD Radeon 6600

Using this unit for Proxmox. So far, I have no complaints for that. Proxmox 8+ has drivers for both NICs. The 1 gigabit NIC is a Realtek, and the 2.5 gigabit port is powered by the Intel i226-V (Rev 4) chip. The unit is very efficient, and at low CPU usage, it's almost silent. In BIOS, find and set AMD CBS/Fch common options/ac power loss options/ac loss control -> Always on to turn on the unit as soon as power is supplied without having to press the power button. It comes with a very plain AMI-based BIOS. No fancy graphics. The unit also comes with Windows 11 Pro preinstalled. I only used it for a bit, but it seems pretty snappy for desktop use. I do strongly suggest supplying your own clean version of Windows and license, because this thing actually shipped with the "Synaptics.exe" worm that a number of these cheap Mini PCs seem to be infected by. Windows Defender caught it immediately. After this, I put on a clean version of Win11 and scanned it with ESET, including UEFI, and the firmware and OS seemed clean. The license key is in the firmware, and so I had no issue activating a fresh install. Do note that the key classified as "VOLUME_MAK", a volume license, so take that for what it's worth. It activated for me, but there's no telling if future activations will work.
