    • A Cool Solution for a Toasty Office

I have two windows in my office that face the morning sun, and the entire room is over an unfinished garage. Between that and my multiple computers, this room can get pretty toasty during the summer! I've been trying to figure out a fix for the windows that aren't too permanent and thought I'd give this a try. In the past I was desperate and duct taped aluminum foil to my windows. It worked, but wasn't so eloquent from the street. That, and it meant that the windows were basically useless unless I ripped them off. This thankfully has done well solving this issue. At night when it's still cool enough I can open the windows and see the night sky, and let me AC run a little bit, but then before going to bed I just close it all up, and come sunrise, the room is still reasonably cool. I also have a small greenhouse in here so I can tell for certain that the room temp is 75 degrees when it's been 90 out so far this year. The control system for it is simple enough: pull it down just a little past where you want it to stop, and it will pull back in slightly and lock in place. To close, pull just slightly and then retract, or stop partway and pull back down to use the air conditioner while blocking the window above it. Simple. There's a very small space around the sides where light is coming in, but I believe that's standard. Unless maybe if you install it upside down, or if your frame is much larger than your glass so you can have more overlap, there'll be a small amount of light leakage. I don't personally have an issue with it, I don't think it could get much better for something that takes 5 minutes to install. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. These were so easy to install and had all the hardware to put it up. I literally used masking tape as I would for hanging picture frames to mark out the four holes (for the brackets) and since I mounted it inside the frame I just screwed the four screws in (didn’t use the anchors since I am going into wood) and snapped the roller blind in place. These blinds look a lot nicer than the other pull roller down/quick pull up shades. The fabric is a nice quality and thick. Even though my picture doesn’t show it it really is room darkening (just the sides lit up that the blinds didn’t reach). They look nice. I do wish there was some sort of cover in the front so the roll isn’t seen and I worry one side of the roll will not roll evenly but that will be an easy fix. The brackets that came with it are really nice! Push button to release the blinds out of the brackets was quick. Love the pull down clear ring which can be removed if you don’t want it. My window frame is 36.5 and I got the 36 and it fit perfectly. I would definitely get these again. They are room darkening, nice to look at, nice quality and affordable. Oh so for some that are visually challenged the directions are a little small in my opinion 😊 ... show more

The screws and anchors were included... and these did stay put. One suggestion is to avoid light around the edges and try to mount as far back as you can so the rolled-down material covers the back as much as possible.

The media could not be loaded. I guess I had low expectations. So this is a roller shade with made of synthetic fabric which is easier to clean than linen. It provides enough light blocking and privacy. Using it on our french doors. There's a spring mechanism which makes it automatically rolls up. We installed ours using command tape as we weren't sure if it'll perform to our expectations before we drill holes in our door. I must say that it was a pleasant surprise. Although this was meant for windows primarily, outside mounting makes it possible to install on doors but keep in mind, they recommend additional 4 inches to the width of the frame. If unrolled it may come close to the door knob though. ... show more

This simple manual roller shade is well constructed and works Smoothly. Includes clear instructions for both inside and outside mounting. Has 2 brakes with are spring loaded in which the shade assembly snaps into the brackets with its grooved channels. Nice grey color with excellent light blockage. The hand actuated roll function is smooth and consistent. The installation is very flexible. Took less than 15 min with some basic tools. Very happy with the outcome. ... show more
