This set strikes me as a really approachable option for beginners, whether for a classroom setting or taking out for quick sketches on the go. As such, not only would this make a great gift for friends or family, but also a good option for someone starting out. It includes a generous range of graphite pencils, some charcoal, blending tools, multiple erasers, and a surprisingly sturdy case that keeps everything contained. I also appreciate the inclusion of two different sharpeners—one for longer points and one for shorter tips. The pencils sharpen well, and the sketchbook paper quality exceeded what I expected from a bundled kit. There is an ample variety of colors and tools, with a present, but less than useful mannequin as well. I appreciate that it includes a number of different tools so that any particular avenue of approach can be worked on, making it a great purchase for the price. The case does feel a bit packed, so I can imagine smudges showing up over time, especially with how messy I can get. In terms of functionality however, the case remains super useful for keeping stuff in and there is enough room where you can do some organization and have a cohesive set. Overall, it’s a strong introductory set and would make a solid travel companion. Keep the pencils, blending tools, erasers, and sketchbook. Awesome set and perfect to take with me. I do have tool boxes that I can carry things in, but this has everything I need in a nice zippered case. No need to pack up studio supplies, and occasionally leave something at home that I really needed. It fits in my backpack and I’m not concerned about pencils breaking or losing anything. Sturdy case and zipper and truly solved a lot of issues for me.
