Saved my butt, and it works really well. Why it saved my butt? I changed two smoke/CO detectors without this and it went well. Decided for the following six I planned on changing that I should get this device. Sure enough, halfway through while using it one of the black cords was live even though the light next to it turned off when I flipped the breaker. Went back and flipped a few more and the reading was at zero. Game changer! Additionally, it’s easy to use, has a useful light, and can clip on your belt loop.

I used this to help change out a light switch in my home. It was my first time ever touching wiring in my home, I was very nervous but with this product I was reassured it was safe before working. If it detects voltage it beeps loudly and a red light flashes. It also gives you a percentage reading on the screen. I would recommend this product.

I got this detector to use when replacing all the outlets and switches in our house. This was a necessity to ensure my safety while doing that. It was accurate and helpful! Just make sure you don’t test wires that are too close together because it could pick up voltage on a nearby wire and mislead you to incorrectly identify a hot wire (that is more of a user error rather than an issue with this product).
