  • I Have A PHD In Review Reading And A Secondary Bacheler's In Cutting Through The Crap
Color: Black Size: KM601 Smart Digital Multimeter
I read the reviews. OMG! Did I really want to buy this thing?!? I hate when they don't list the specs for something; it's what I go by, to a large extent. It turns out you have to buy it first, so you can look up the specs in the owner's manual. I have uploaded them for your convenience. (See pics) These aren't boundary-pushing specs, but for under fifty bucks, they're VERY respectable specs! I was pleased. I don't run a NASA lab. I fix, maybe, a really old stereo amp, I figure out why the trailer lights aren't working, I check AA batteries when a remote control is dead, I check for power when fixing or installing wiring so I don't electrocute myself. Just fine. The leads were a problem. So many meters to look through and I really liked this one, but it had weirded out leads with only the very tips of the probes exposed, which someone brought up in a review. The easy solution? Use all your reading skills and read ALL OF the product description and discover that the little plastic sleeves come off and the leads immediately turn into "regular" leads! (See Last Pic) This is actually a benefit!! Can you even imagine all the bent probes I've had on my many meters over the years, from pushing hard, trying to get a good connection? Not with those plastic sleeves in place! If you can't handle that, take the sleeves off when you get the meter and throw them away! Solved! (Don't forget to recycle) I was a little intimidated, wondering if this meter would be complicated to use and require a lot of memorization. NOPE! When you hit the big red middle button, it IMMEDIATELY switches to manual mode and starts flipping through all the different functions. The biggest problem I had was trying to figure out how to measure AC volts! I kept looking for an "AC Volts" function, which isn't there. Only "Volts". I went, "AHA!" and hit the "SEL" button and that switched it from DC to AC! Took under 10 seconds. If you can remember what the "SEL"(ect) button does, you've completed the memorization regimen! I have a Haoki meter that I had purchased in Japan years ago when I was in the AF and it DOES have pushing the boundary specs. If I need to know I'm getting a super accurate measurement, I've always grabbed that one right away. I connected that one and this one to two outlets on the same extension cord. The Haoki read 117.3 volts and this one read 118.0 volts when I did that. (Off-grid solar) That's considerably less than 1% and we don't know how much of that difference was cause by the Haoki. The power sense function works fine. If you hold the top left of the meter up against anything live - a power receptacle or a live run of Romex [TM] - it beeps and the light turns on either red or green, depending on the proximity. I haven't tried the temp sensor yet; that's how confident I am that it's going to work fine, too. It's hard to read in sunlight??? Really??? So, you're saying other LCD meters are easy to read in direct sunlight??? Is that what you're saying??? Boo Hoo! I COMPLETELY love the carrying case!! It's more hard than soft, it has a zipper, it folds apart, the leads are in a cargo net thing on one side and the meter is held by an elastic bunjee band on the other side! Not counting "in direct sunlight", like one reviewer was upset about, the display is SUPER easy to read! It's very compact, yet has a relatively large display! You are completely eliminating that big, complicated rotary function switch that can and sometimes does break at the worst possible time. And the generosity of the ranges!! Check out all the temp ranges it can measure! I'm actually calling it the best meter I've ever used at any price!! They were thinking when they designed it. I ma VERY pleased with this thing! (Price aside!!) Imagine how pleased I am with it after figuring in the price!! I can totally recommend this meter!! (Unless your luck is so poor, you get the one in a million broken one. You can't hold me responsible for that, if that happens.) ... show more

  • You’re going to love this multi tester
Color: Black Size: KM602 Full-Screen Smart Multimeter
Electrical work is only about 10 to 15% of my overall apartment maintenance workload, yet I must have a unit that is reliable, easy to read, and simple to set. This is all of that and more. It has revolutionized my liking of multi testers. Most often I just leave it in automatic mode, and it knows what to do, or I can go manual if I’m being picky. I was leery of the strange brand name, but I must say, it has proven to me to be a quality unit that is easy to read and use at an excellent price point. ... show more

  • Accurate, easy to read, and great quality multimeter
Color: Black Size: KM602 Full-Screen Smart Multimeter
The KAIWEETS Smart Rechargeable Multimeter is an excellent tool for DIY or professional electrical work. The green display is bright and easy to read, even in strong lighting, with minimal glare. The functions — voltage, continuity, resistance, and more — all tested accurately and quickly during use. It feels well-built, with a responsive touch button system and a clear interface that makes operation simple. The USB-rechargeable battery is a major bonus over traditional 9V-powered meters. Everything matched the online description, and I’m fully satisfied with the purchase. I’d definitely buy this again or recommend it to anyone needing a reliable and modern multimeter. ⸻ Q&A: Q: Is the screen visible in bright light or sunlight? A: Yes — the green display is bright with minimal glare and easy to read in well-lit environments. Q: How accurate are the readings compared to other meters? A: Very accurate. Voltage, continuity, and resistance all matched my Fluke tester in side-by-side use. Q: Is it rechargeable or battery-powered? A: It’s USB-rechargeable, which is a big plus — no need to buy 9V batteries ever again. ... show more

  • It's actually a quality meter
Color: Black Size: KM602 Full-Screen Smart Multimeter
My Fluke 76 meter finally died after decades of daily use. As a Fluke fan I'm looking at the replacement models now but needed a quick, cheap meter to use in the interim. I settled on this one for an overnight delivery. And, I'm pleasantly surprised! It has heft unlike the cheap lightweight feel of, well... cheap meters. It has a protective meter cover as well as a quality zipper bag for storage. Then there's a color LCD screen which is something I've never seen before in a meter, ditto for the rechargeable battery feature. I'm mixed on the rechargeable battery. With battery-powered meters (only type I've every used, or seen) when you get a low-battery warning you stop work for a minute and replace the battery. But, this meter has to go on a 10-hour charger, the bad thing being that according to the manual it cannot be used while charging. That ain't good! I'm also concerned about the durability of the huge LCD screen... I can just see those cracks already. Meters are handheld and anything held in hand is going to be dropped. And, all rechargeable batteries eventually fail and need replacement after x-number of charge cycles. Can a replacement battery be found at a reasonable cost? Easy to replace? Can it be replaced? So, there's the concerns I have. But, the manual claims the battery to be 3.7 volts. Could it be one of those big universal 18650 batteries? I'll bet it is considering the weight and front-to-back thickness of the meter, but I'll leave finding out to to if and when it becomes necessary. The meter of course turns itself off after a few minutes of non-use - nice to know. One last thing I don't like is the recharging plug and port. For some reason the port is deeply recessed into the meter requiring an extra long plug to reach it. It would take too much to explain it exactly, I'll just say I've never seen one like it. But, the price is low, so if I drop and smash that big LCD screen I'll still be able to pay the light bill. It's also chock-full of features I've never had on a multimeter. All meters handle the usual AC/DC volts, ohms, current and diode functions, but this meter has it all...Volts AC/DC, Ohms, Diode Check, Current, Frequency, Capacitance, and Temperature The thing even came with a wired temperature probe, and of course it has Auto-ranging which is perhaps the greatest upgrade to multimeters since they enter existence. I checked the accuracy of this KM602 meter against a variety of other instruments... LCR testers, frequency counters, etc. and can say that its readings agree with everything else I've got and know to be accurate. The manual says that the meter is accurate to a tolerance of +/- 1 to 4% depending on the function - I see nothing that contradicts that. One detailed review said that this meter's measurement ranges are not earth-shattering, and that is true. What's also true is that most users will never have need for measurements that extreme... I know I don't. That's my quick take on this thing. I get a feeling that the more I use it, the more I'll like it. With all the buttons I thought it would be a chore to learn everything, but the meter's controls are very intuitive... you get a lot of positive transfer knowledge from having worked on devices with similar function titles and sequences. I paid about $45 for this meter and got a lot of hardware for that amount of money. ... show more
