    • Sensational!
Moving up from an older lightbox...which was clumpy etc...I am beyond thrilled with this. Thin, light and adjustable light levels make this a win win! Cordless with long life between charges. Get this...you will love it!

    • Fantastic quality and value
Prior to this purchase I tried two other similar products: The Cricut Bright Pad, whose light had an odd yellowish cast, and the Gagne Porta-Trace, which had a zillion specs of dust between the LED lights and the clear top panel (a common issue, I would later learn from other reviews). Because I needed a light table primarily to view old negatives, neither the noticeable cast or dust were acceptable. But luckily, the third time was the charm and I am THRILLED with the Kaiser Slimlite. For starters, it's super-sleek and light (only about one-third of an inch thick). There's also no exterior housing to come loose or catch your clothing, as the entire tablet is a single fully bonded piece. It seems much more sturdy than the other brands I tried, which had a bit of "flex" between the panels and the frame. As a plus, the Kaiser also has a built-in lithium-ion battery so you can work even when an outlet isn't convenient. Finally, it's calibrated to produce light at a neutral temperature of 5000k, with even light across the entire surface (no "hot spots"). This makes a huge difference for photographic applications. It's very well suited to other applications as well, though — I've used it for tracing too and have found that on its brightest setting the light easily passes through two sheets of heavyweight paper. I try to write balanced reviews, but in this case I honestly can't think of a single negative. Even the price is excellent when you consider the quality and color calibration. As an aside, Adorama Camera provided excellent service too. ... show more

    • Great for DSLR Scanning
It’s a great light for DSLR scanning of negatives and slides. I am scanning up to 4x5 with excellent results.

Excellent for use as a small, lightweight light table for film use.

    • Fell apart within two weeks. Unable to return because I threw away the packaging.
Arrived without a charging adapter, but I decided to keep the device anyway (a mistake). Within a few days it developed a small bright spot. A few days later it began color shifting to yellow in places. A few days later the glue (or whatever) holding the top in place began to fail, and the device began to come apart. Device sat on my desk the entire time, was not dropped, banged, or even moved. While it still works in the sense that the light comes on, it's useless to me, and I can't return it. Happy, I'm not. ... show more

    • Thin and good battery life
Review Image by peejay
I really like how thin this is. Also very nice is that the charge lasts quite a bit of time, allowing me to use this far from a power plug. I use it for providing lighting for slide digitization using a digital SLR

    • Not quite flat
My only complaint is that it curves slightly - doesn't lay quite flat. I can press it down on the ends, but that's probably not what was intended. I don't know if this is particular to my plano, or if others see this too.
