  • Completely satisfied.
Size: 25 feet
Bear in mind I have only owned this cable for one day. This is my initial impression. Why I bought this cable - Put simply, I needed an extension cable to go from my computer to my bed so I could put a second monitor by the bed and use my computer there. I do not like to disturb other people with my entertainment so I use headphones. My initial intent was to simply buy a cable that was long enough and would work and was cheap. After a quick scan of what Amazon has available, I was ready to buy a reasonably long cable for about $4 shipped. Then I had second thoughts. I was prepared to accept a cable that didn't last a long time (most headphone cables don't, as a general rule). I was not willing to accept a cable that had serious flaws or didn't work right out of the box. Unfortunately, these days, 3.5mm plugs are not all created equal and you can easily end up with a plug that will not grip well enough to withstand any movement at all. That's to say you'll plug your headphones in and the first time you move, the plug will pop out or you'll get noise from the sloppy connection. So I did NOT want to spend ANY amount of money on a cable that would take days to get here and then not serve the basic function I intended it to. I don't like to return things I bought online. Especially things that don't cost much. It's just a hassle. After some browsing and reading probably more reviews than I wanted to read about headphone cables, I found this. I've honestly never heard of this company but they had a lot of glowing reviews (for the price) and the cable appears to be made well enough in the photos. Again, every headphone cable I've ever had broke down eventually. It seems to be a matter of about 2-3 years. Usually the get stiff near the stress points close to the plug and eventually, the conductors inside will break. This is why you should never buy an expensive set of headphones that doesn't have a cable you can easily replace. I don't care how much you paid for the headphones. That cable probably WILL break down eventually. It's just the nature of them. So, with that in mind, my goals here were as follows... 1. To not pay too much for a cable that's going to take some abuse and likely break down in a couple of years. 2. To get reasonable quality for the money. 3. To not buy something that didn't work for me right out of the box. This cable meets all of those goals. I could see as soon as I took it out of the package that the quality is very good for the price. I looked it over and checked to see how flexible the jacket is and how solid the connectors appeared to be. One of the main hallmarks of a poorly made cable (in my experience) is a thin cable that has a relatively stiff jacket that will kink the first time you bend it too far. This cable seems thicker than most inexpensive cables and the jacket is very nice and supple. For a cable that's 25 feet long, this thing doesn't tangle as easily as you would expect. Never a bad thing. At any rate, after checking it out, I really did not have any doubt that when I plugged it in it would have a nice, snug, secure fit and that's exactly what happened. As far as the sound quality? I'm not an audiophile. To my ears, the sound quality using AKG K240 headphones was identical. I can't hear any noise or interference or anything that shouldn't be there. This is more than good enough for general use. And I mean, I mostly watch Youtube videos so that's not going to push things into territory where subtle differences might even be noticeable. Conclusion - I'm satisfied. No one likes nasty surprises when they buy things online and I didn't have any with this product. Honestly, I think if this cable cost twice what it does I wouldn't really be able to find anything bad to say about it other than I wish it didn't cost so much to get a perfectly decent product. I doubt I could have found anything this good for this price locally. I didn't actually try but I've paid $30 for very basic cables at places like Best Buy in the past. If this cable lasts 3 years I'll be happy. I will likely buy another one if/when it breaks. Again, the fact that it probably will eventually is not really a con at this price. ... show more

  • Just long enough.
Size: 15 feet
This cord is just the right length. Only problem is I got it so that I could use it with my TV so that my wife wouldnt be disturbed when I was watching a loud movie. The problem was that I had to buy a Digital to Analog converter to use the headphones along with this cord. Not happy with that as the converter is not that great. ... show more

  • Kabeldirekt are good cables for the price, and you can spend less or a LOT more - I especially like their 3.5 mm cables
Size: 10 feet
Audio cables are probably the most misunderstood, misrepresented and hotly debated segment of the audio industry. You can pay $1 or $1000 for a 3 ft RCA cable or 3.5mm connector, and there is a supplier willing to provide you with a cable no matter what you want to pay. So how much do you NEED to pay? At what point do the diminishing returns kick in, and you only get small to no improvement in sound for the incremental dollars you spend? What is the sweet spot? Only you can answer that question…. Everyone’s needs are different, as are everyone’s ears. Plus, everyone’s gear is different, as everyone has a different budget and different level of audio gear. I personally own and try cables of different levels – I own these Kabeldirekt, also own Monoprice, Blue Jeans, Monster, and other brands. There is a level of cost I won’t cross for my own personal budget, in fact the Blue Jeans cables I own are the upper end for me, and sometimes still feel I paid too much. Again, everyone's needs are different, some spend a lot more on cables than Blue Jeans, some think it is more than you need. After buying and trying Blue Jeans, I started looking for another brand to try that was well made, but cheaper. I was setting up an HT for my sons’ and for my woodshop, and needed something that struck the price to value ratio nicely. I did not want to pay a fortune, but wanted something a little better than the lower end Monoprice cables. For my money, these Kabeldirekt have hit the spot nicely. I have purchased varying lengths of these cables, and different types. I have the RCA in 3, 6 and 10 feet, plus different configurations of these 3.5mm cables. I like a lot of things about these 3.5mm cables – they have an oxygen free copper core, they are shielded, and they are flexible. They also have reinforced, well-constructed ends and connectors, and don’t fit so tight that you have to pull them off with excessive force. They just look and feel like a good cable. The 3.5mm is my favorite Kabeldirekt cable - I have others from Ugreen, Monoprice and no-name brands and the Kabeldirekt cable is thickest, built the best of all. The connectors are tight and solid, and well made how they attach to the cable. I use these for many applications, including as an extension for my Senn HD600 and Beyer DT 800 Headphones, and to hook up my Senn RS185 wireless headphone base to my AVR. But the real test – how do they perform? Well, this is the subjective part of cable shopping, and where everyone has a different opinion. My opinion is these perform well for the money. My main theater room has a Denon 7200wa and a Parasound 2125 amp, with Klipsch RP center, mains and surrounds. My shop has a Denon 4806 with Definitive CLR 2002 center, and SM 450 mains and 350 surrounds. My sons’ HT has a Denon 3300W with Def Tech BP 8B, CLR 2002 center. In all cases, and all configurations, I am happy with the performance of these cables.. I am completely satisfied with the sound these deliver. Bottom line is my system(s) / HT setups are of the “mid-fi” category, and these cables perform well in my opinion for this level. You could spend less, and you could spend more the choice is yours. For me, the $10 range for 3.5mm cables is good enough, and these are a well made cable for that price. Recommended. Thanks for reading. ... show more
