Features

  • A metal die-cast body lets this valve handle continuous duty on pump-fed systems and high-pressure municipal lines, running season after season where plastic-bodied indexing valves crack or wear out under 150 PSI cycling.
  • Simple one-moving-part construction means the stem-and-disc assembly is the only wear component, so contractors can service or rebuild the valve in the field without pulling the whole body or rewiring a controller.
  • Rated for a 15 GPM minimum at 25 to 150 PSI, this valve is built for pump-fed sprinkler systems and high-flow municipal water lines that would overwhelm a standard residential zone valve.
  • A built-in atmospheric vacuum breaker releases the vacuum that forms between pump and valve on shutdown, protecting the pump from backflow-induced damage every time a zone cycle ends.
  • This 4-outlet valve body is set up for 2-zone operation, matching K-Rain's 6000 Series indexing platform so contractors staging a small pump station can standardize parts across 2, 3, and 4-zone jobs.

  • An Indexing Valve posing as 1 1/2 Inch when it only has a water flow of 1 inch through the inside rotating indexing disc.
The outside outlet ports are 1 1/2 inch for PVC Pipes. By taking the cover off, a disc can be seen which has a 1 inch by 1 1/16 diameter opening. The disc rotates to the next outlet when the pump is turned off. The result is very restrictive water flow. In fact the opening for the water to go through the disc is not even close to being the same size as the 11/2 inch outlets where the pipes are connected. The result is the water flow is ACTUALLY ONLY THROUGH A ONE INCH OPENING! This is obviously a deceptive shortcut, with a valve that should be the same size as the outlet pipes. No one would know this unless they took the cover off. The inlet for the water going into the Indexing Valve is 11/2 Inch and the outlet pipes are 11/2 Inch. But inside the pass through hole on the disc is only 1 inch. Further restriction is the thick two rubber pieces that have to be pushed open, on the undersize valve on the rotating disc. Also the rotating disc inside often does not turn when the water is shut off. So instead of switching to the next outlet pipe it just stays at the same outlet. By switching I mean turning to the next outlet pipe. A 11/2 inch Indexing valve is purchased, with it actually being a 1 inch Indexing valve, because the internal rotating disc that directs the water to the outgoing outlet pipe is just a minute amount over 1 inch. The minute amount is about 11/16 inch on one side with the other side 1 inch width. ... show more

I haven't bought this product but I do have the same style but about 20yrs old. I just wanted to comment to the guys review above. The housing acts as a header and a 1" outlet into a 1-1/2" zone it designed for velocity through the smaller opening to speed the water out of the header and then to a larger diameter pipe which drops the velocity to increase water pressure. Simple hydrodynamics. ... show more
