K&N is one of those brands you can trust. They can be a bit pricey, but the quality is worth it. The oil flow is noticeably better than other filters I've used, which helps with engine longevity. Been using 1008 and 1010 for decades but these are getting way expensive than Mobil ones. Don’t know if there’s any data backing up the 20K miles guarantee. Always hand tighten up to 3/4 turn and the nut is for taking it off.

    • If you're ordering the HP-1010 here's my experience. 5/7/2024
I chose the option to order two K&N HP1010 oil filters instead of the HP1008 because it is a larger volume oil filer even though they are $2.71 more each. I have used both in the past. I received two HP1008 filters. I read reviews and saw that I am not the first to experience this. On principle I will return both filters because I don't think this was a mistake, K&N's website doesn't list the HP1010 anymore and hasn't for quite some time. I thought since the website gave me a choice of either, then someone had some left over to ship. So be prepared not to received HP1010 filters if you order them but be prepared to pay the extra price as if you did. I order these filters because my car's oil filter is in a tough place to reach, the nut on the filter makes it easier to remove and replace. ... show more
