I was impressed with this kitty window seat from the moment I opened it, It's made from nice plush feeling material on seat itself and nice looking pattern on bolster and trim made from heavy material with a foam insert for nice padding. I like that the bolster is removable and that I can install the cover with the bolster facing the window or facing out( the picture on box shows the bolster next to window but I installed it with the bolster on the outside because I thought it would help my cats to feel more protected, they loves to sleep in the window and it gives them something to curl up against if they are looking out) Installation was super easy, I opted for the screws into my wooden sill for more strength, I have 2 cats that like to sleep together and for me I thought it would be better than velcro but if you are renting or don't want to put holes in the wood the velcro may be a better choice- just note the directions say not to use the seat for 24 hours once velcro is installed to allow for proper adhesion. There was no keeping my cats out of the window for 24 hours, they were trying to get into the window seat as I was installing it-LOL! It was pretty comical. I would definitely recommend this window seat to anyone with cats that love lay in the window sill.

We recently adopted a cat wanted to start with a few items to make her comfortable. Remembering how much the cats I had as a kid loved sitting in the window, this seemed like it would be a good fit. When it arrived, my first impression was that it was easy to assemble and install, looked attractive, and seemed very comfortable. Under the cover is a layer of egg-crate style foam with what seems to be a waterproof layer over that. Then comes the actual cover and bolster. The cover is soft and plush and the bolster is covered with a smooth fabric. This all fits over a plastic frame. While the frame doesn't feel overly heavy-duty, it does seem adequate. Our cat is pretty small, only about six pounds, so I can't say how this would hold up to a 20 pound cat. There are two ways to install this. You can use the enclosed screws and simply screw them into the window sill. Slide the cover over and you're done. This is what we did. Also, there are two velcro strips, though I can't say how they would work. I would imagine the tapes from Command hooks could be a possibility for damage-free installation, too. The velcro (and Command tapes) need to sit for a time before you use the product. The bolster is always shown on the window side, which seems backward to me, but you can put the cover on with the bolster either side. The bolster also zips off. Our cat likes to sit on the perch, back away from the window against the bolster. She seems quite comfortable, spends a lot of time there, and has made herself comfortable in her new home. We are happy with our decision and would highly recommend this product.

This is the second kitty window perch I have owned. I had the first for many years and my cats loved it. The cover finally wore out after about ... 10 years or of constant use - by more than one kitty. It was the desired spot, so who got there first of our three kitties was always the game. I was going to make a new cover as the base was as good as new, but for the price of a whole new window seat and cover, it didn’t make sense to go to all the effort. This one also has a really nice zippered removable bolster and so It’s really way more complicated than I thought ... my old one didn’t have the bolster - it’s a really nice addition. I thought though I might want to change things up this time and go with a different type of window seat. There are some nice sleek looking ones now with really clean lines and metal braces. After looking at the reviews however and the photos of how the other ones were so cheaply made and the issues people were having, I decided to stay with what was tried and true for us. Also the others definitely didn’t seem as sturdy ...plus, I then noticed there were many nice new design choices in the covers of the type we had (as I mentioned my other was was designed for 10 years ago). The first one we had years.ago, we mounted with the provided Velcro strips to adhere it to the window sill. It worked great for many years and it even was in a really sunny window. It does leave a bit of residue after taking it down - but for the many years of enjoyment it provided that was a small price to pay. This time however, I decided to screw it in as I knew the holes would be easy enough to fill and paint at whatever point it would be taken down . I’m really glad I stayed with this one as it’s is so very sturdy and comfy and now that I see it in person I really like it. I have no doubt this one one will last for many years to come as well. It’s nicely padded and the cover is nice and soft. Just an added note: My kitty is 19 years old or so (he found us and was fully grown, so we don’t know exactly but he has been with us for 18 years) He was quite emaciated and his fur was just short and Scraggly - he was starving and suffering from extreme malnutrition. He was not neutered and so had quite the large head tomcat look. He also was used to only being outside, so he lived at night in our garage (his pick not mine) I wanted him to live in our house - he would yowl until he was let outside. He got in a terrible fight one night - but still drug himself back to our house. The vet thought from his injuries, he managed to survive a coyote attack. We got him neutered then at this point along with getting him patched up from the attack (I know ....poor guy!). He didn’t have a choice now - while recuperating he had to get used to us and stay inside. (It wasn’t an easy road but if he wanted to live here I had to be able to protect him - our cats are indoor cats) We were shocked ... after about 6 months of eating good food his coat began to change and grow in - turned out he looks like a beautiful Russian Blue ....his coat is gorgeous and he is pure sweetness (I will say there was a lot of time and patience involved) I put that last part in about our cat as I hope people take his life story and are heartened and encouraged to take on sometimes seemingly impossible cases with animals that can have wonderful amazing and surprising outcomes.

First the good news: This is a cute cat perch, and the little "bumper" that zips on and off is a nice touch (I chose to position it on the outside so that my cat doesn't accidentally roll off the perch. I also like the pattern and feel of the fabric--it is neutral enough to blend in with your decor. After leaving cat treats on it a couple of times, my cat got the message that this was an "appoved" surface and began to lounge. •Assembly is very easy. I'm not sure why folks report having problems snapping in the brackets; I can only say that mine went in quite easily and with very little effort I was able to get them locked in place. The not-so-good news: •I suggest that you ignore the option to secure the perch to the sill with just the velcro tape provided--especially if you have an adult cat. Their weight on the outer edge is bound to cause the tape to loosen--which is what happened the first time I mounted it (I came home to find it on the floor, and my cat giving me side eyes if I'd pranked him). So, I decided that since I love the cat more than my recently painted sills, I would go ahead and nail the perch down. This worked--for a while. Then I discovered the second issue. The brackets that support the perch are a sturdy, but smooth lightweight plastic. So, if the cat's weight shifts near the outer edge, they brackets will slide toward the window and make the perch tilt. Again, I came home to this discovery. Again, I got feline side eye; he got extra treats by way of apology. I tried securing the bottoms with velcro tape, but that doesn't hold. So, I suggest the solution you see in the picture: put a piece of wood behind the brackets so they can't slide backwards. You're welcome. 😊

I just received this yesterday. Easy to install. I used screws. I will also use the decorative wall supports sent, but have to adapt them differently with a 1x2 board because of my window design. It is very sturdy just with the screws. I do have wooden window sill that sticks out about 4 inches. I introduced my cat to it and she seemed to like it, but hasn't explored back to it yet. It usually takes her some time to start using something new. I know she will love laying in the sunny window and looking outside. I will probably put a bird feeder or hummingbird feeder their in the Spring to give her more to look at. I highly recommend this item. I would definitely buy again. Update from several weeks later. My cat is slow about starting to use new things, but after a few weeks, she started sitting on the window seat. I bought a bird feeder to put outside the window to give her more to look at. I absolutely love this seat and would put one in every window if I could .. lol. This is a very good quality item and I would definitely buy again. 😊

I have bought and returned at least half a dozen cat window perches and this is the best one ever! I had the nice wooden one with strong suction cups that worked well into my kitten grew up to be a 13 lb cat & after it fell and bonked him on the head time after time (I tried to readjust it), my cat became afraid of it because it was so unstable. This one sits lower on the window but it comes with screws (and adhesive Velcro but I wanted to make sure it was secure). At first my cat refused to sit on it till I tricked him with treats (prob traumatized by the other one I’ve tested) but once I got him on it he was hooked and wouldn’t come off. Good quality, well built and designed. Enough cushions with removable top layer and extra padding for the sides. It even looks good and so easy to install! Highly recommend…

This is hands-down the best cat bed we’ve ever had! They’re always in use. We’ve purchased it over & over for our fur babies, as well as for friends. However, I can’t understand why the images show the bolster facing the window. That’s completely backwards for the safety & comfort of the kitty. They don’t need to be bolstered against the window and aren’t going to fall off that side, but they certainly could roll off the side facing the room, while they sleep. The bolster should be cuddling their backbone, keeping them safely on the bed. We chose to screw the beds into the sills for the best retention, as it is permanent. Didn’t want to fool with Velcro. We’ve purchased K&H’s 20”x6” heating pad to go with this bed. It fits perfectly underneath the cushion & bolster cover and keeps the babies warm against a winter window. Would recommend this to anyone!!

**UPDATE** My fat cat has been sleeping on this almost all day today, and finally she got off then came back on and I heard the velcro coming lose. To be fair, she is fairly heavy and sleeps on it ALL day but this just might be better with lighter cats, or with a better support system. I uploaded a video to show the slanting of the perch, as well as the velcro ripping off. Before I start my review: It's kind of obvious, but just remember that you won't really be able to close your window's blinds when you install this. I have this in my bedroom window, and it blocks the blinds/curtains from being closed so just consider this before purchasing it. You might want to place this in an area with a window that doesn't have lots of people coming by, or doesn't really require the curtains to be closed. This would be perfect if you have horizontal blinds, but I have vertical curtains and blinds. This is definitely worth the money. I recently adopted a overweight cat, approximately 15 lbs and she LOVES this thing. She likes to sleep in it all day. The fabric is also very soft, and the cushion seems very comfortable. Also, there are velcro straps that support this bed. There are no nails involved (they come with nails, so the choice is optional) but the installation is overall easy. Some may think that velcro isn't supportive, but this velcro is pretty sturdy in my opinion. In the picture, the little arches to make it look nice and provide support kind of look cheap and plastic-y, but I really don't care. Another plus is that the cushion and padding part is removable and washable. So if they end up throwing up a hairball on this, you won't really have any worries.
