  • Good monocular with some minor drawbacks.
Size: 12*50 Monocular-Black
I'm not a hunter or a golfer but I do like to check out wildlife from a distance while hiking or if I spot something far away on a hike that catches my attention. Since I'm a casual user I don't need the latest and greatest lens glass or all the bells and whistles that come with the more expensive monocular. This works just fine for me but does have a few things missing that I would have liked to have. I wear glasses and I didn't think of the importance of having an adjustable diopter. I can't use this with my glasses and it took a bit to get things in focus with my glasses off. Yes a diopter adjustment is mainly for binoculars to help adjust the differences between eyes but it can also help dial in (fine tune) the focus when using one eye. Doing this with the main knob was a bit challenging but it did work you just have to turn it really really slow. I also didn't like the nub on the bottom that is used for attaching the included lanyard. The included layard is cheap and the tiny thread holding it on doesn't feel all that secure. It does unscrew though to reveal a tripod mount and there are many alternative lanyard holders that can screw into this port. Overall though the image quality was ok and did a good job of pulling in distant objects well. The two photos I included were taken by putting my phone up to the monocular and snapping the photo. The tree is about 200 yards away. If you need an inexpensive monocular for casual use then I can recommend this one. ... show more

  • Replaced the slightly older version of the scope offer by K&F
Size: 12*50 Monocular-Black
If you like the older version, but want the tripod socket, then upgrade to this one. It's the same performance that I remember, but I feel like there is less CA than I am accustomed to. The bigger pouch is just as light as the older version, but it's not meant to mount onto a plate carrier--it's fine for hiking and camping. I use this as a spotter when shooting wildlife, and being able to set it on the ground with a folding tripod-handle is worth the upgrade; especially considering the compact and lightweight design. It fits in the pockets of my vest and jackets and doesn't really feel like it encumbers me. ... show more

Crystal clear viewing with ample magnification. This monocular is very well constructed with high quality materials. It come with a carrying pouch, lanyard and lens cleaning cloth, perfect! No additional costs to buy the much needed extras! This focus in very clear. No problems with shakiness when viewing. I am satisfied consumer. ... show more

  • A mid priced monocular that works nicely, no frills, good image
Size: 12*50 Monocular-Black
I've bought a lot of camera stuff from K&F and it has always been good. I've been wanting a monocular but didn't want to buy a "no name" brand which can be disappointing. So when I saw K&F I snapped this one up. It does not disappoint! The image is sharp, bright and clear with no color fringing or distortion. The eyepiece is bigger than average giving you a wider field of view. Also where many mono/binocular eyepieces have these rubber eyecups that are difficult to fold up and down, this one extends with a simple twist of the eyepiece, very nice! The focus knob on top looks like it would be awkward to adjust but when you are holding this your fingers will be right on top of it, so it's easy to adjust and hold one handed. They include a captive lens cap on the front so you won't lose it, however the rear lens cap is not attached. I wish they had made the rear cap captive too or at least given you some way to attach it to a lanyard, when you're using something like this outside it's pretty easy to lose a lens cap if it's not attached. This monocular isn't small, you will wrap your hand around it with about an inch or two to spare between your fingers and thumb. It will fit in a good sized jacket pocket with no problem, but it's not one of those tiny pocket scopes you can fit in the palm of your hand. It does come with a nylon protective case with a belt loop. There are quite a few similar monoculars on amazon that come with accessories that look pretty cheap. Things like thin plastic mini tripods and ways to attach your phone's camera to the telescope. To me these accessories look pretty cheap and not very useful so I'm glad K&F didn't try to include similar ones, they put all the price into making a quality optical product. I have a set of binoculars that were a bit more expensive and have almost the same specs from a no-name brand and the image quality/brightness on them are no where near as good as this K&F monocular. So I think this is a quality product. ... show more

  • Nice monocular. A bit heavy and fussy to get into focus
Size: 12*50 Monocular-Black
This is a quality product. It's very well made. All of the parts fit well and the lenses are firmly seated in the device. There are two focus adjustments. One is to correct for your vision. If you wear glasses, it's possible to adjust the eyepiece so you won't need them on while you view. I found that very difficult to set up. The regular focus knob is on the top of the device. It's action is very smooth. The monocular comes with rubber lens caps that do a good job sealing out dust and moisture. It comes in a rip-stop case with a belt loop. Very nice. The lenses are large and admit a lot of light. Excellent. I had some trouble finding and focusing. That could be my eyes more than the monocular. All in all, this is a bargain at the price. Very good optics in a substantial package. ... show more
