Screw pilot holes are not in the correct location for many hinges including Blum. Other than that it locates easily and positively every time for the 35 mm pocket. I just hand marked and drilled the screw holes using the hinges as a template

    • Easy to set up, takes all the guess work out of the equation.

This jig really does the job well for locating and drilling the indention needed for an assortment of cabinet door hinges. This saves me from relying on the T-square and having to draw multiple times on the cabinet door to get the correct center position for those indentions. The jig is fully metal and very sturdy and precise once the jig is set up. It utilizes a "router-like" operation concept to do the indent drilling. It comes with 2 drill bits which also are sharp and durable in its cutting blades. As long as you're not attacking some hard knots in the hardwood plank, these bits can last. I was able to make 14 cabinet door indentions with just one drill bit without overheating nor seeing diminishing cutting strength. This jig is ideal if you're a habitual cabinet maker, or if you have a lot of cabinet doors to make in one setting. It saves a lot of unnecessary measuring time and allows you to repeated produce the same result from door to door. This is as close to professional results as you can get with just one jig. I'm very happy to come across this, and though I've only get to use this jig for 3 days and built 14 cabinet doors for my garage, I think going down the road, I'd be looking for every opportunity to make more cabinet doors with this jig. I hadn't used a jig for concealed hinges before, since it's something I only do occasionally. However, I wanted to give this a try, and it's much nicer and quicker to use this jig. I might end up finding projects to use concealed hinges more often now that I've gotten used to it!

    • Accurate And Convenient, But Only One Offset And Merely OK Cutter

I also own the popular budget Kreg cabinet hinge jig that costs 10%-25% more than this jig and have used it a good bit. I've only used the Juyltool jig to install hinges on a single cabinet door that I just built, so more limited experience with this jig. Although it costs more the Kreg jig is formed from industrial plastic and does not include any sort of clamp to hold the jig in place, a clamp of some sort must be supplied by the user. The CNC'ed alloy Juyltool jig feels much more rugged and durable, while the integrated over-center clamp is very convenient and works extremely well. In my limited use I noticed the Juyltool jig fell short of the budget Kreg jig in two areas. First, the Kreg jig includes the ability to set various offsets (I believe they're 3,4,5,6 mm), while the Juyltool jig is preset to a single offset (from memory, 5 mm). Secondly, the cutter supplied with the Juyltool jig did not cut as quickly or cleanly as the one supplied with the Kreg jig. Kreg clearly states that the cutter supplied with their jig has carbide cutting surfaces, so I'd expect it to be very durable. Juyltool provides no information about the cutter supplied with its jig, so it's likely a lesser cutter formed from some kind of tool steel. In the future I'll likely use my Kreg cutter with the Juyltool jig, as long as I can use the fixed 5 mm offset of the Juyltool jig. ... show more

An excellent jig for 35 mm hidden hinges. As noted by other reviewers the inset is not adjustable and the drill bit not as sharp or aggressive as I’d like. However the jig is well made and once you get it set up, a fiddley process, it perfect for punching out pockets for the hinges. As you can see from the picture the setting screws for the hinge did not line up with the hinges I bought at our local hardware store but that’s a minor issue. I’m happy with this jig and would recommend, especially given the price. ... show more

Very impressed with the build quality of this jig. It beats the heck out of the build quality of the Kreg cabinet hinge hole drilling jig we already own. However this jig doesn't allow for adjustability and doesn't allow for varying offsets where our Kreg does. In terms of quality you'll be impressed and if you do not require anything beyond the 5mm offset distance for you cabinetry you'll be golden. All in all a good value for your Euro cabinet hinge jig drilling needs. ... show more
