As an amateur coffee roaster, I am always looking for a better brew. At the office, my employer provides a W8 machine. Thst is really the top of the line and out of my price range. So when I looked for a machine for myself, I looked for the best value for money. With the E6 and E8 machines in my price range, I was unsure whether the E6 would meet my needs. I can tell you it really is an excellent machine and well worth the price. You will need to add some accessories to bring it up to the level of an all-purpose machine, but it still remains the best machine at the price. I added the Wi-Fi option and really like the ability to add custom drinks. The standard drink menu is customizable to suit your taste and the needs of your particular bean. As with all automatic brewing machines it is important to maintain the machine and clean it regularly. I use the Jura products as well as Urnex. The most frequent task required is to clean the milk foaming system. I like that the provided cleaning container fits directly under the dispenser and not on a separate outlet. It takes only a few minutes to thoroughly clean the frothing system each day. We often have house guests and I find that the machine gets a lot of use but the bean holder seems ample as idoes the water supply. I can recommend this machine for those interested in an all in one brewing and grinding system. ... show more

I purchased this item 4 months ago and loved it and used it every day. I went to turn it on today it lit up and then shut off completely. It will not power on again. I would not waste money on this product.

This comment is in response to A.D review ''1.0 out of 5 stars Jura E6 design has a defect, espresso is bitter or weak, milk foam is thin and not hot, etc. Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2018'' I did not read the whole book review about your experience (it was boring and not factual) but the problem you had was an easy fix. The reason why your cappuccino was cold and not frothy was because you had to dismantle the milk frother pieces and clean out debris. You don't need to buy the milk cleaning solution but you can certainly de-clog the frother manually under sink. Now my E6 works best cappuccino after i unclogged it. ... show more

My last Jura machine lasted less than 2 years, sent back got warranty repair, 2 months later more problems, took 2 weeks to get a callback from Jura, only to be told $500.00 to repair unit (it had a blown fuse) offered me 400.00 on a trade in, I paid 3000.00 for the unit just over two years ago. I’ve gone back to French Press and don’t miss the expense of operating this poorly manufactured machine. ... show more

This is definitely a step above. Be prepared to spend $30 on a water filter that may only last 2 mo . Buy the extra cleaning tablets and don’t plan on using anything but bottles water.
