I love this machine. Has all the bells and whistles and does everything you need a machine to do. My one and only complaint is it does not have a "bobbin low" warning. But with the clear bobbin case cover you can easily see the amount of thread on your bobbin. Just me being picky. I'm in love with this machine. ... show more

I've sewn lots of things on my Juki DX5 now! I absolutely love it! The auto cutting feature is one of the main reasons I originally purchased it, but its exceeded my expectations in everything it can do! I have been sewing for 3.5 years and was looking to upgrade because I felt my skills were at a level I needed/wanted more features. I love that this machine's foot pedal can be programmed to do several things from back-stitching to trimming threads! It's awesome! Never even knew I needed that, but it's a great feature! I love that the foot pedal has weight to it and it's large! It doesn't slide around nearly as easily as cheaper machines. It sews through lots of thick layers with ease. And the floating foot allows it to glide through without smooshing the layers. I love that the presser foot lifts slightly for turning corners or directions. It sews much quieter and smoother than any machine I've owned before (had 5 others before this Juki). It's also just a sleek, beautiful machine! It has so many stitches, letters and designs! I've used many of them already for my Pixie hats! Well worth the price. I thoroughly look forward to AND enjoy sewing on my Juki DX5! ... show more

I never opened the package to use the machine. I found out that metric measurements are in front, and US measurements in back on the sewing plate. I wanted the US measurements in front. That is the only reason I returned this machine-otherwise, I would have kept it based on all of its wonderful features. Beautiful machine, too, from the pictures! Loving my new machine!!! Has all the bells and whistles needed to make sewing a breeze! The cut thread button also lifts the pressure foot at the end which is helpful and saves time. I also love the slight pressure foot lift leaving the needle down. Makes sewing small pieces with lots of turns so easy. The first project I tried it on was adding a corset back to a wedding gown. It went through a dozen layers of fabric with such ease! I know this machine will do me well for years to come. I want to give a shout out of praise/thanks to the Seller SewVacDirect. Firstly, they offered a great price that was better than I could get locally. Secondly their customer service is excellent! When the machine arrived, a tiny piece of the accessory tray was broken. 1 quick call to them and a brand new piece arrived at my door in 2 days. They are helpful, kind and thorough. ... show more

Wow, just wow! I ended up buying this machine after previously deciding upon the Juki FS400, taking advantage of Juki's end of year clearance prices. This machine has everything I've ever wanted, and it sews beautifully on every setting I've tried so far. Stitch quality is fantastic. Nice throat size, super fast speeds, and a powerful motor are included along with an amazing assortment of programmable functions that read like a virtual wish list. I've long read about Juki quality and I'm so pleased to have this machine. As a bonus, it takes the same bobbins I used for my Brother (SA156, or generic Class 15). I've only been sewing on it for a couple of weeks and will revisit my review if necessary, but I'm in love. ... show more

Don't know what "thickness" and "sheerness" had to do with this sewing machine.?? But what I can say is .."it's a beast!"! Love it! Has a lot of stitch patterns, easy to use, lot of power, and very well built. Glad I ordered it.
