  • Can I marry my Juki?
Omg what a beautiful machine! PERFECT stitches. Quiet and smooth. I’m in heaven

  • Heavy Duty
I love my new Juki machine. It can handle the bigger sewing projects with a stronger motor and larger throat. I have no trouble quilting a larger quilt.

  • Top quality machine
I love this machine. My sewing projects look so much better. I had no idea a better machine could make that much of a difference. I highly recommend it.

  • Love, love, love it!
I don't know what I ever did without this machine. I have three other sewing machines (2 brothers and 1 singer) and a serger, but this is bar far the best. It only does straight stitch, but it does it well! I had been thinking about investing in an industrial or semi-industrial machine for a while for use in my bag making. After much research, I settled on Juki, and picked the Haruka because of the portability (yes, it's heavy, but it can be transported), and the extras that came with it. The platform that you can attach to it is huge, and the extra feet are great. So far I've only used the reguar foot, zipper foot, and compensating foot, but am looking forward to trying my hand at maching quilting with the included quilting feet. I love the thread cutter feature, and can now never go back to a machine that doesn't have it. The foot control is very sensitive, making it easy to control the speed, and it doesn't slide across the floor like my other foot controllers do on my other machines. I feel I have to mention the cons: 1) the zipper foot is not hinged - it would be much better if it was hinged and flexible to go over the ends of zippers, etc. 2) You can't see the bobbin thread to know when you're getting low. Neither of these is enough to knock my rating down from the max 5 stars, though. I am so happy I made the investment in this machine! ... show more

  • Exactly what was needed!
Sewing denim and leather straps to pocketbooks was wanky with the Singer sewing machines, even the heavy duty. Now it's a breeze.

  • Stop 1-Star Review: Do Not Buy!
I purchased the Juki QVP TL-18QVP in April 2024, expecting a high-quality machine for my sewing projects. I barely used it, always kept up with maintenance, and made sure everything was in perfect condition. However, when I finally went to use it for a project, it completely stopped working in the middle of my sew—no warning, no error message, just dead. For a machine at this price point, this is completely unacceptable. I expected durability and reliability from Juki, but this machine has been nothing but a disappointment. Save your money and look elsewhere! ... show more

  • Amazing machine
I’ve been back to seeing just about a year now mainly bag making. In February I bought a Viking Emerald 116 which was wonderful…. Until I started working with canvas and heavier fabric. Did a little research and decided on this machine. Sooo glad I did - it’s like driving a Porsche and hasn’t slowed down for anything. Watch all the YouTube videos-they are the basic training that you need. ... show more

  • Definitely has some major issues
Purchased FEB 2023: 1st 2 years of infrequent use yielded beautiful stitches & enjoyable sewing (hence the 3*s). Yet that ended 2 months ago. Now there often is a noise of thread against metal, a stitch skips, a severed top thread is pulled underneath the fabric, & the machine jams. After the last jam, the needle was hitting the bobbin casing. When I called around for repair, I learned that this is a problem that other Juki TL-18QVP owners have had. During repair, the technician had to adjust the hook timing and found thread remnants on a screw on a position bar inside of the machine (near the feed dogs). PROS...when it works properly: - Beautiful stitch quality (far superior to contemporary computerized machines) - Easily sews light to heavy fabric weights & multiple layers of fabric - Even fabric feed with adjustment of presser foot pressure or walking foot (see below) - Thread cutter on machine & in foot pedal (foot pedal cutter can be immobilized with an accessory) - Can purchase hinged zipper feet & other useful accessories CONS: - Poor lighting (only one) - Poor quality walking foot (when brand new, it was not centered on the needle & had to be repaired) - Thread problem described above & expensive repair (12% of the purchase price in April 2025) - Six oil ports (more ports than the semi-industrial machines of a couple of other manufacturers) - Unreliable CONCLUSION: This machine is marketed as a semi-industrial, mechanical workhorse. Mine was all that for those 1st 2 years. Though my machine is now repaired & probably better than it was when it was new, I no longer consider it to be the workhorse promoted in Juki's marketing. If you buy this machine, go in with eyes wide open. Make sure that you know of an authorized Juki dealer whom you can turn to for repairs. Keep the original box/packaging in case you need to ship it out for repair. ... show more
