Just received this today. Great product. Kind of chinky and lightweight but very serviceable. It looks just like a real book. The front cover opens to reveal the next cover within which contains the combo lock. The outer cover tends to remain open just a bit. Setting the combo was a little finicky and the included directions specifically say to use 2 fingers, not just 1, to move the little lever to set the combo. I could not get it to move, initially, with 2 fingers and then used just 1 with leverage and over went the lever. The lock took my personal combination nicely and then I closed the lid, spun the numbers and it wouldn't open (perfect). Then I entered my combo and it opened perfectly. It easily fits a 380 size tool and, separately, a 40 USP Compact size tool. Just right. Definitely recommend it. ... show more

I purchased this safe because I wanted something that was nice and hidden. If you put it in a book shelf with a bunch of other books you can't even tell that it is a safe. It is great quality and easy to use. The size of it is not very big so you should definitely be aware of that if you are purchasing this safe. It's very secure and it's just a 3 digit code that you can set to lock it and open it. I think this is a great product for the price! ... show more

I truly love this purchase. I got one for my mother and my grandmother as well. I love that. It's very discreet and you can place it anywhere and put anything in it. I have mine placed in the living room in my bookstand so if anything was to ever happen, I can just grab it and go. It's not super big, but it holds a lot. It is deep. Pages look as false as they are vault is metal 3 digit lock sequence cover and spine look real and good in general if I had to put the quality of the vault to a test it cant be open by brute force maybe a heavy duty crowbar but not a normal one not just an normal hammer either. This was one of 3 different "book safes" I bought just to see what they are like. Pros: Larger interior volume than comparably sized book-safes with the "real paper" feature. Having real paper around the edges means about a 1/2" of space all the way around is consumed by the paper, but this safe can use all of that space for storage. The minimum interior dimensions of the safe are about 5.75"W x 9"H x 1"D. Note however that the depth varies between about 1" and 2" depending on where you're measuring. There is a large recess from top to bottom for the lock knob that reduces the maximum depth by about 0.5", and the area immediately around the lock itself is another 0.5" shallower still. Cons: It kinda stands out because the binding doesn't look much like a real book. The front cover warped really badly after a couple weeks of just just sitting empty on the shelf. A large portion of the interior space is wasted due to how the exterior knob for the lock is recessed. Neutral: The lock could be bypassed with a large screwdriver, but that's also true of competing products. It's not really meant to be a safe as much as it is meant to be a diversion. A real thief could easily take it with them and open it at their leisure. The lock mechanism on the interior is exposed and may come into contact with whatever you keep inside.
