Works well, the head was loose on the shaft and would wobble making the blade into a death disk. I had to wrap friction tape around shaft a couple times to up slop. No more death wobble.

    • Loose on Echo SRM-225 straight shaft
Had "JAPAN" stamped on it and for $19.00 it was a deal. It was loose on my ECHO SRM-225 straight shaft so I had to tape 2-3 wraps of hvac aluminum tape around the shaft and drill a hole on the shaft for the stabilizer bolt on the gearhead. Thread fits echo line head. Hopefully, it will last.

I accidentally broke the bump head to my trimmer when I was trying to open it to replace the trimmer line. I tried to remove the gear box from my Hart 40v trimmer but it seemed like it was stuck together. You would think that Hart would sell there own gearbox but instead they want you to buy a whole new trimmer which i would never do. I found this gear box off of youtube and decided to give it a chance and I'm glad I did. Instead of paying almost $200 for a new electric trimmer, I ended up paying about $48 for this gear box, a new bump head and grease. All in all so far so good ... show more

Went with a Craftsman style weed eater Head and found that it takes a 3/8 in bolt. Mine was a 1/4" on my Ryobi SS 30. I installed this unit which works great. The standard attachment pole is 24 mm which means that I had to cut the extension tips off of the Head. I put it on the vise with light tension, took a hacksaw and cut at the seam. Had to do it about 3 times to get the right fit. Now it is a solid mount and it works great! I also changed out my Brush Cutter Head because the mount on this Head works perfectly for mounting the saw blade. I highly recommend this Gear Head. ... show more

I’m returning this. There were no pictures of the back of the gearbox. What I needed to know was there is no slot on the back to help hold gearbox on the weedeater. I have a Husqvarna 128LD and often using a chainsaw blade. I need that blade to stay on. Want more than a set screw between me and mayhem. ... show more

    • Works great as a replacement for Walmart's Hart brand 40v weed whacker
My Hart brand trimmer wore through the original bump feed trimmer head. I could not get a replacement head from the Hart site, so I googled a tutorial and this was recommended. I took the $18 gamble, and it was a perfect replacement for the gear assembly. Less than 10 minutes after I got it, I swapped it out and added a universal head.
