I am an experienced potter. I have lots of tools, many of them expensive, but I am impressed with this set for such a low price. This is perfect for a beginning potter to find out what tools s/he prefers. There is just about everything she could possibly need and it comes in a very nice pouch, so if she is traveling back-and-forth to the studio, she has a way to keep the tools together. The red tools even have their own plastic pouch to keep them together and separate from the rest, so you don't poke yourself. The wooden tools are not high-grade hardwood, but they are good enough to find out what tools you would use a lot and want to buy. I have a lot of tools I never have used. I hadn't tried them and didn't know l wouldn't use them. As an experienced potter, just the scoring/feathering tool is worth the 7 bucks. Plus I love the rubbarised smoothing tools. I can always use another rib, although the metal rib has some rough edges that I am not overly thrilled with, but a piece of sandpaper will take care of that quickly. This is the Best Buy on Potter's tools that I have ever seen.

This 28 clay starter set comes all packaged in plastic in its own simple zippered case and did not include any information from seller or product. Beside that, this is a decent set, the tools all mostly stable and usable with a wide verity. The wood tools are a little unfinished and uncomfortable in the hand but the others have comfortable handles and decent heads. Effective for the listed price of $6.99 at the time of this review.

This is the perfect tool set for a beginner who wants to experiment with tools before buying much more expensive tools. As I opened the pouch, I was really surprised at the weight and quality compared to some tools I paid more for. Just about anything a potter could want is included in a nice zippered pouch. I've used a few tools from the set for throwing and trimming pots so far. They work just as well as more expensive tools, although they may not last as long as pricier tools. The pieces have a good feel in my hands as I'm using them. This set offers so many options for carving and decorating, and the pieces I've used work really well. So glad I ordered this.

My wife has a bunch of air dry clay she plans to play with, and thought these tools would be great to have. We were both really impressed by the variety of tools included, although there are no suggestions on how to use each of them for us newbies; we're hoping there might be some YouTube videos to help with that. Some of the tools seem pretty cheap, like the very thin metal scraper, but others feel like excellent quality, like the blue and wood-handled tools. The carrying case fits everything very well and feels like it will hold up well to use. We think the price is pretty incredible, considering everything you get. Would highly recommend.

Perfect starter tool kit if you're just getting started with air dry and polymer clay. Multiple utensils to achieve different affects as well as storage bag, sponges, wire and scrapers.

Overall, this is a very decent tool kit for a beginning potter. I did find that some of the wood tools were a little rough, and the wooden rib had pits out of it, making it not really suitable for its job. However, the rest of their tools were great, and you could easily hand build as well as throwing with them. Good set for a beginner.

I’ve been taking pottery classes for about a month so I haven’t used all of these tools, but the ones I have used are good. Not only does it have carving tools, but design tools like various sized styluses for making round indentations. They feel comfortable in my hand when using and clean up easily.
