    • My doggo LOVES this mattress. Should have purchased years ago.
I have an older Siberian Husky with very long legs who refuses to sit in the car. He loves to stand in the middle of the backseat, watching the road ahead while enjoying the middle console AC, or likes to stand right behind my driver's seat, head out the window. Before this contraption, he'd have to stand at an odd angle, with his front paws on the car floor and hind legs on the seat. This led to many instances of him sliding around, falling, and straight up slamming into the back of the front seats if I had to brake hard or take a sharp turn. With him aging, I didn't want to keep risking him hurting himself. Bought this finally on Prime Day and oh my goodness! The look of love and gratitude on his face after our first ride was heart-melting! I swear that is the look and kisses he gave me, not just anthropomorphizing here! LOL. I also like that this one (i) has mesh in the middle so the middle console AC still flows through (that was hard to find on one like this at this price), and (ii) has about a 2" back piece that rests against the back of the backseat to keep it secure and keep items from falling in the crevices. I placed it on top of the seat hammock I already had back there (trying to at least control some Husky hair in my car) and it fits perfectly. I have used this portable folding mattress and it is sturdy but you have to be careful to not put too much weight all in one spot there is a solid pad built into it, and I have heard some cracking close to the edges but either wise, it has worked well for me.

    • Not a viable car camping bed; maaaayyybe a dog bed.
This product is incredibly easy to deploy - easy to unfold, easy to hook to your car seats, easy to adjust, easy to pack up again. Additionally, the extra pockets to hold a few things might be convenient. Unfortunately, the positives end there. At just under $100 when I purchased this, it's barely worth the pricetag if your intention is to use it as a car camping bed for humans. 1. It's necessary to have some slack in the fabric in order to fold it up nice and compact. But this also means that the boards/foams will not meet up to give you a flat surface. Think giant kitchen tiles and the grooves where the grout is would be like an inch large. In fact, because the panels are small, the sections will jut up as you try to climb onto the thing as opposed to staying flat. Imagine if you took binder covers and sewed them into a quilt with an inch slack all around and try crawling over that what would happen. 2. The foam that's supposed to cover the boards doesn't even fully cover them! If you move around too much, the boards will "click" against each other. This makes me question this product's longevity. A few bad turns in the night... would the boards snap from the pressure when clicking against each other? 3. Cushioning - The product is very hard, but not surprising because of how thin it is when you fold it up. I bought this hoping more so for a sturdy platform base and more cushioning (like a thermarest) on top. Adding something like a thermarest helps this product be more bearable, but I doubt that comfort would be there if you just threw a sleeping bag on top of it. 4. Price - At best I think this product would be worth perhaps half or a third of what it actually costs - somewhere in the $30-$50 range. It really fails to deliver in terms of human sleeping systems for the car. On the other hand, if you just need something to line the back of your seats for your animals and you don't care about the back part of your seats being covered, then this might be a solution. The convenience of pockets on the back also allows you to put stuff back there. But at just under $100 you may have to discern if that product is really worth it. I'm not certain if I will keep this. I still need "something" that can cover the back seat that's easy to deploy and provides a sturdy platform. I'm disinclined to get an air mattress as those don't really last very long. I think I'd like to check out other similar products to see if they're better or worse for the various prices they ask. ... show more

Fits my truck perfect! I have 2 smaller sized dogs (25lbs and under) one is a older dachshund who always gets stuck in the back seat foot area and I'm always worried she is going to hurt herself so this gives me peace of mind. The pad is pretty think with some cushion and sturdy. I think it would work great for most vehicles and most sized dogs. Very versatile. ... show more

Good or not depends on what you intend to use it for. 10 in too short for a full size SUV, fits ok in a Honda Civic. You need additional stuffing to create a flat surface. Ok for dogs, not a solution for overnight.

I ordered this but it was really hard and not comfortable. I wrote a review stating my issue and the company reached out to me to resolve it. They sell an inflatable one too and sent me that which is much better for me. I guess it will depend on your preference but if you like something really hard/firm stick with this and if you want something a little softer look at their inflatable one. ... show more

There are no hooks or straps to attach to the back seat. There are only hooks on the front.

    • Securing the Seat in place.
There was no way to secure the lower mat to the lower back of of the backseat, except the hangers around the head rest. Supposedly, the bottom has the mat cushion a non slip coating, but I was not comfortable with just that!
