  • Watch youtube videos on how to do this repair
I think that this is a great kit. The easy to install rating isn't against the seller on this, just noting that the process to do this can be difficult. The only thing I wish they had included would maybe be a small magnifying glass of some sort. Since the latchs on the ribbon connectors can be quite tough to see. That being said, this is a great kit. They give you all of the tools you'll need for the job for short money. The joystick is working well (I only had one fail stuck in a direction), I'm saving the other for when one goes bad. But definitely do your research to make sure you're up to the task on doing this before buying this kit. But the kit is really good and is quite complete. Although it wouldn't hurt to buy the same size torx driver in something which can give a bit more torque for those screws which don't want to go easily. Either way, this is a great kit and has worked well for me. ... show more

  • Not easy, but works incredibly well
The joystick on my controller had horrible drift, when I wasn't even touching it and set it down the joystick registered as it was constantly at the up position. After replacing it using this kit I have 0 drift. Looking at the calibration it stayed directly in the middle without shaking even. As a heads up, this is not as easy to install as the 4 steps in the description lead it to seem. If you are uncomfortable working with tiny objects this would be a real struggle. It does not come with instructions, but you can easily find some if you search 'quest 2 joystick replacement'; I personally used Ima_Rainbow's tutorial. Do note if you use that one, it doesn't explain that you will also need to transfer spring that comes on your quest's original thumbstick so don't throw it out. The flat edge of the joystick's metal piece should be away from the ribbon, VR Review's tutorial shows this at 6:22. Note: If you think you would struggle with it I recommend reaching out to Meta through email. I did and I received an out-of-warranty deal of a refurbished one for $50, despite mine being used and without a box. I just decided to go with the $20 and experience, especially as it came with another piece which would be useful if my other controller gets drift, and I'm sure any future times would be considerably less time. ... show more

  • Fixed My Daughters Joystick Drift
Both of my daughter's Oculus controller joysticks were starting to drift. Installed these and now they are working perfectly. I will say that these are not the easiest things to change out but there is enough videos out there on the internet to walk you through it. Would definitely recommend if you are having similar issues. ... show more

  • Good product with some hiccups
So the Philips screwdriver isn't small enough to remove some of the screws. (Luckily, I had my own tool set). Other than that, everything is working perfectly. No stick drift, no nothing. Some people are arguing about how it doesn't have the sensor, so they can't continue. The way to have the sensors work is by transferring the ones from the original controller to the new joysticks. And even if you don't have them, the controller is still usually, you just won't have sensors on the thumb sticks. Other people have been saying that once they finished, the controller was just fried. That is something that does happen if you do this thing to your controller. It's a risk that you have to take if you want to fix your controller. So make sure you don't have any static electricity on yourself and wear rubber gloves and be careful when you do it. Other than the complaints the people have been having about that, it's a good product. Takes some time to put it together but it's worth the outcome. I had stick drift for 1 and a half years and now I'm clear without any of it, feels amazing. ... show more

  • Not worth it for a regular joe
Bought this to repair my son’s drift on his controller. I wanted to avoid buying a whole new one. The process started fine but I ended up breaking a piece off of the internal circuit board. Now I need to buy him a new controller anyway and I am out an extra $20 for this kit. If you tinker with electronics a lot then I would give this item more stars but if you don’t know what you’re doing (I even watched YouTube videos as I was trying to fix) then save yourself the $20 and just get the new controller. ... show more

  • A sceptic is impressed
Thought this might be a too good to be true thing, and so I bought it, been having drift for a minute. Did both remotes in about 1 hour. PLEASE exercise patients. Take you time and make sure you do it right the first time. Youtube videos made this easy but a few of them did a terrible job at describing the process. Just go slow and look at all the parts before you move ahead with any step. Ording another set of joysticks for my other controller. Its drift is not bad at all, but these are easy to do and makes the remote like new. WORTH IT!!! And I rarely am impressed with electronics! ... show more

  • Hard to get controller apart
The joysticks fit perfectly and work well, but the controller is hard to take apart and put back together. I recommend sorting the screws/ peices.
